They were out in force at the back of the south stand and generated a fantastic atmosphere, exactly what we've been lacking. I know there have been issues in the past but surely everyone deserves a second chance. For the first time this season I actually enjoyed being there

I had guest tickets for Friday so didn't sit in my usual peg. I was sat opposite the 20m line near to the North Stand. I have to say all I could hear was the Saints fans and couldn't really hear much singing coming from the other end. Back to my usual peg next time!!

To be fair i couldn't really hear the Saints fans once the game started. Prior to kick off I did hear what sounded like an old "when the saints go marching in" LP starting to pick up speed again after the power had been cut. Other than that...nothing.

Saints are pretty limited when it comes to their singing repertoire. Most of the time it's just the tired old hymn over and over again. #onesong

Thought our end was quiet as usual, could hear Saints

They have also been really adventurous and copied that embarrassingly BAD song England sang at the World Cup.

Can't slate other teams supporters when we can't generate any atmosphere ourselves.

Wigan away from home (especially against Wire & Saints) generate tremendous atmospheres. Good Friday this year was top notch. Headingley is crap due to the open terracing.

That's always been the case, largely because the regular away supporters tend to be more vocal and passionate anyway, plus they can group together instead of being scattered around three stands at home.

Which is why I compared against Saints visit on Friday. Consolidated together in one stand and a half d dragging out of "the hymn" every ten minutes.

I'd say there are 3 games out of the 11 away games per season. Wire, Saints like you mentioned but Catalans has been the best this year. For the rest of the year i'd say its far from tremendous mate. Good Friday is generally a given for a good atmosphere. Understand and take your point on open terracing but i feel there are a number of other factors as to why we struggle to generate atmosphere. Partly the clubs fault and ourselves as supporters.

I think our travelling support has dwindled over the last couple of years, went to Cas last week and was shocked with just how few we took. Missed the Catalans game unfortunately.

It's a far cry from the 80's/90's when 2nd division chairmen would pray for a visit from Wigan in an early round of the cups giving them a bumper pay day.

Yep, definitely decreased over the last few years. I think theres a serious lack of interest in the club at the minute.

Plus it's increasingly frustrating trying to drive anywhere these days.

Agreed on both counts,good friday was spine tingling the noise was insane.

As opposed to Wigan's repertoire which includes

"Wigan, Wigan, Wigan"

or

"Wigan, Wigan, Wigan"

Or bloody fartown whats that all about you never shut up it about it dont exist anymore let it go
