Well that is probably the side I'd pick from that 19 but it wouldn't surprise me to see A Powell in again. Wane may think his size an asset against a big Huddersfield pack but I am not sure he is up to playing against a top team in a crunch game.
No loose forward is a worry. Flower there didn't work very well. Disappointed not to see Burke in at 13 assuming he has returned after his recent bereavement.
How about Faz at 13 with Tuson in the back row and Hughes on the bench (with Flower taking Crosby or Dudson's spot)?

| Glad Sam Powell is in. Logan has been offering less and less as the weeks go by for me.
Out of that I'd go-
Tomkins
Charnley
Gelling
Thornley
Richards
Green
Smith
Flower
McIlorum
Mossop
Hansen
Farrell
Tuson
Subs
Taylor
Dudson
Hughes
S Powell
Crosby and A Powell to miss out.

| Sounds harsh but I've got to echo others' comments about L.Tomkins, he's just not good enough currently IMO.
FB 1 S.Tomkins
RW 2 Charnley
RC 22 Gelling
LC 17 Thornley
LW 5 Richards
SO 6 Green
SH 7 Smith
P 26 Crosby
H 9 McIlorum
P 10 Mossop
SR 11 Hansen
SR 12 Farrell
LF 15 Flower
S 16 Tuson
S 21 Taylor
S 24 S.Powell
S 38 A.Powell
Dudson and Hughes to miss out. I'd have had Burgess in the 19 to cover for Thornley if he's ill and I'd have liked Hampshire to have got a spot but other than that happy. Even though I wouldn't have given him a spot I am pleased for Sam Powell he had a stormer v Hull FC

| I'd be concerned if Andy Powell made it as he struggled with his line speed and would be exploited. Glad he's been given game time so he knows where he needs to be for 2014 but hope he's no where near a play off squad this year.

| Well it looks like the same setup as weve been trying the past few weeks and it has not been working so i really hope we have some alterations in position because otherwise it's going to be the same old story, this will be a tough test either way but i rekon we can only win this game if Huddersfield are off their game and we are bang on ours with limited errors, goign back to when we played them at the start of the season at their ground we was in with a chance until the final few minutes with a similair squad and without lockers so we really need to up our game because Huddersfield have certainly looked fresher than us of late.

I feel the same way hence my suggestion about Faz at 13.
It could be worse. If Thornley hasn't recovered our centres cold be Gelling and Hughes.

You could be right to be fair, I'm just concerned about our lack of size against Huddersfield's pack, no one seemed capable of standing up to Crabtree last time out. Plus Powell offloads unlike our other forwards which might just slow their line down a bit (i.e they have to hang around that extra second or two while he's being tackled instead of going straight back as soon as 2/3 players are on him). There's only any point playing him if we're going to follow up on his offloads though, I was alarmed at how genuinely lost players appeared when given the ball. Green or Tomkins should be on his shoulder knowing what they want to do if they get it.

Yep could be a serious option to consider, he's agile and has a fair pair of hands so why not and Tuson shows his best when playing in the back row IMO so got to be worth a try, the huge problem i have been seeing for weeks is when we put our moves on to throw it out wide and we usually go to matty smith or green then to o loughlin then to sam then usually early on in the seaosn it ended with charnley scoring in the corner, when lockers does not play we lose our hand speed and the link in the line and by the time it;s got to sam we are getting smashed because our opponents have come wise to it and are getting out faster off their line, we either need to speed things up or change up our moves.

Why not play A Powell instead of Hughes if its about sizing up
If there's 3 props on the bench he only has to do 10min spells so surely could up his output in that 10 and make sure his line speed and defensive is upto scratch

| Am I the only one who is a little puzzled by Dudson returning to the squad? He's been awful for the last couple of months; ineffective in attack and a complete liability.
He's undoubtedly capable of producing good games, he has done previously, but his form has been very poor.
Good to see Sam Powell in the squad. He'll probably cover at hooker but be on standby to play in the halves if Green starts throwing the ball to the other team again.

| Hughes has been consistently poor this year - I wouldn't consider him for this.
I would have picked Hampshire on the bench.
Whatever the lineup I hope Wane has a few tricks up his sleeve as we'll need a few different plays to threaten them.
Not ruling us out though.

We seem to have a bit of a problem at 4th prop. Lauaki is "injured", Crosby seems to have dropped back a bit possibly due to having played quite a bit and A Powell is a novice. Dudson is hit or miss. The one missing from the mix is Spencer. If the usual props are a bit out of sorts why not play him?
I reckon A Powell will play and if he does that will be a huge risk and test for the player. A typical Wane kind of selection if he does IMO.

I think if he does play it has to be from the bench, can't start him like against Leeds

| The actual 17 isn't a problem for me if it's the same, but the way we play to set plays is. We need to have a few up our sleeves that we haven't used before. Souths a few weeks back, played Manly and they scored from 3 brand new variations. If we have something like that for our next 3 games, we could very easily be crowned champions.
The one that put Thornley through last week was an ideal example, it was similar to the move Souths scored from but we used it in our own half. That definitely gives me hope that we have some up our sleeves.

| Hughes may be stand by if Thornley is unfit.
If Thornley does play then Sam Powell on the bench along with three forwards.
Never been convinced by H, Faz and Tuson as a pack back three. Not big enough!
We will have to up our game by some measure to get a win at their place.

| I'm not sure Andy Powell is fit enough for the game. Shame as I think he could bulk up our (relatively lightweight) pack. Gamble by Wane if he's in - I wouldn't be unhappy but maybe a bit worried about his defence.
