| Has no other alternative. Chris has to do what's best for him. If about us offering him a lower contract, is true, i'd be inclined to tap up Salford and get as much money as I could. Hopefully he'll stay with us though.

| Hope he decides to stay but I have a feeling he may end up at another club on better money. He's really come on this season and we should pull out as much as we can to keep him.

| I'd hope IL would offer him a better salary now that his form has improved. Definitely worth having on board IMO. Fair play to Agar and the Wakefield club as well as mentioned

| Tusons Dad was on our coach to Wembley and said that He was after a starting spot. I can't see him getting that above HH & Faz. He also said that SW told him he'd be welcomed back with open arms if it went belly up at Wakey due to their financial issues. I hope he stays.

| Fair play to Wakefield, it's an honest approach, but it would almost certainly suit them financially if Tuson didn't sign.

| If he ends up at Salford or Widnes (most likely destinations IMO) then that would confirm what a poor offer he got from us IMO.
No club is going to break the bank for Chris. He's a good squad player and isn't going to be any clubs star signing on a six figure salary so any move elsewhere would to me indicate a truly naff offer from Wigan.
Lets hope Wigan and IL don't try and exploit the situation and try and retain him on the cheap. A fair day's work deserves a fair day's pay.

Totally agree, my understanding is that his preferred option was always to stay at Wigan, over to you then IL!

Exactly, we need to keep that continuity in the squad rather then seeing umpteen players walk through the door each year.
Tuson could be our JJB. He'll never be a world class player because his size will limit him but he's turning in to a fine superleague player that plays with heart, desire, aggression and above his weight.
If any Wakey fans are reading this thread I bet they're hoping it doesn't fall through! There's no better measure of a players ability then the reactions of the teams fans who that player is leaving.

| I'd like him to stay but his main reason for leaving was wanting a regular starting role, would he get that at Wigan next year?

| It all depends on the value Tuson wants salary wise. Wigan will have a figure they think he is worth and that's what they should offer.
I like Tuson he's a hard working player BUT I don't think he's big enough if we also have Farrell in the second row. If Tuson is happy to be a squad player at Wigans valuation then I agree he could be worth signing. However bear in mind he will be 24 years of age at the start of next season so may not be able to go out on loan.

| One factor that might have a bearing is Lockers' long-term future, depending on how serious his injury is. Tuson might have to cover at #13 until Burke comes through...

| You cant keep them all and I dont think Tuson at Wigan justifies the salary that he can presumably get as a starting player elsewhere. He will always be a bench/squad player at best at Wigan and he doesnt offer anything that Farrell and Hansen dont.

Hansen and Lockers ghave missed big chunks of this year, that is why Tuson is invaluable. He has started a large amount of games this year and is a 1-17 regular. We must keep if we can.

This. I've said all along that as a pair they aren't big enough.

| Agree but I also think Hansen for all his fine defensive qualities offer little in attack, he rarely makes a break or even draws defenders to slip a pass.
Pettybourne next year may offer something a little different (assuming he plays at 2nd row) because it is needed at present
[size=85or say it quietly perhaps put Gelling in as an attacking 2nd row[/size

Defensively Hansen is second to none and worth his weight in gold. In attack he's very limited. In fact he's only got one move - cutting back inside. It's very predictable and means the ball generally has to bypass Hansen just to ensure it reaches the backs.

| Wane has said in the WEP that its unlikely he'll stay at Wigan even if his Wakey move falls through. He says his heart is set on leaving and we have already signed replacements in Pettybourne and Hopkins.
He does say he's in talks with other clubs, I'd guess at a move to Salford or Widnes but he's the type of player I could see Huddersfield or Wire being in for. He'd face the same issues at those clubs as he would here though.
