What an effort by the young lads, hampshire is a real class above. For what it's worth the clock was stuck on 5.03 minutes for about 45 seconds so without that we'd have at least got the draw.

Some really good performances from the young lads tonight, certainly didn't deserve to be on the losing side.

What a silly comment. Other posters quite rightly are praising your youngsters not having a dig at the opposition. We can only play against the team you put on the pitch.

Fair play pal. We cannot blame Hull because we chose to play a young team.
Houldsworth showed his class with the 20 metre restart kick downfield that won you the scrum, which enabled you to drop the goal. Congrats.

It was a very young team and obviously whoever made the call will learn from it. You cannot really think that a young lad should be sacked for that?

Every single one of those players have played the sport for a while (Andy Powell excepted) and should understand it. My nephew is 9 and he called 3/4 drives and a kick.

Has your nephew ever played at SL level? WE all know it was not the correct decision but when you are out in the middle with adrenaline running high a young lad can make the wrong choice. I agree it was the wrong call but I am not prepared to slag off and sack a young lad for that.

I agree except for the fact the clock was wrong. It was at least a minute slow. I am certain Powell has enough of an RL brain not to rush it. The fact we packed down like there was 30 secs left was the give away IMO.

The clock showed 1 min 30. I noted it when I called the play.

It was 1:22 by my recollection and as I said I don't know why they were unaware of the discrepancy but I think they were (unaware). Deacon was doing his nut when it stopped at 5:03 and Hull scored to take it to 33:22 in that set I think.



We made some clangers all game. We should have shut them out when well in front but managed to give penalties away though I think the one for not square when the Hull player played the ball to no one was Child's error.

A couple of more experienced players and perhaps we'd have won despite Child's and the clock.
