Much as it's looks like I've done bugger all on the site recently....I've actually updated all 38 first team player pages for this season so all the historical stats are up to date.

I've also updated the all time AtoZ player page which is this one....

Only reason I mention it is because it now has other ways to look at that page, as is apparent by the links at the top.

I failed on my #onemoreyeargeorge campaign so am starting a #onemoreyearbilko campaign.

I know most fans couldn't give two hoots, but that's brilliant work Bilko. It would be fantastic to have that sort of information on players from all clubs somewhere like Wikipedia.

Can I ask where on earth you get the information from? As a Leeds fan I know you could do something similar but only for players who've played more than ten games, based on a couple of old books by a guy called Ken Dalby and updated from later sources. Even then there are plenty of first names missing etc.

Couple of old books and then I updated on them myself since about 1992.

Bilko - Can i ask what actually drives you to do this?

Is is more regarding the need to complete a statistical history of Wigan, the club you follow?

Or are you more interested in the actual numerical compilation and have a general love of numbers?

Or a bit of both?

I dunno. I just started doing stuff in 2002 and it just built from that.

Martland was slower than Paul Wellens running in quicksand.

He'd still beat you to the bar to get a round in Brian.

The slowest player I ever laid eyes on was Ronnie Mather,he once intercepted 5 yards out from the try line. One of the opposition players got up off the floor and tackled him a yard short.



But it is said that after training on Thursdays the Secretary used to shout "come and get your pay packets" Ronnie was always first in the queue.
