The first round play offs are set for Friday 14th September (1), 2 on Saturday the 15th, 1 on Sunday 16th.

If we finish top do we get a choice of dates or are they set according to league position?

Similarly - without jumping the gun - does the team who get the club call get the choice of dates for the semis (scheduled for Friday 28th and Saturday 29th September if last year is anything to go by).

There are no Latics home games to consider these weekends.

Just trying to plan my life without clashing with the potential play off dates, not easy.

I thought it was down to Sky and any other things that could become an issue such as football.

We would play on the Friday night if we finished top AFAIK.

The only issue would be if we were to lose the first round as Latics are at home on the following Saturday.

Latics should be moving their game to the Sunday now just incase this happens. Equal rights and all that

Latics have to play when the PL tell them too under the terms of their membership. They can request a move but I doubt they would get one for a possible stadium clash hence why its never happened.

Basically play -off dates are down to SKY (taking into account other "mitigating" factors. )

If WA are at home on Saturday 22nd and should it be necessary then Wigan's game would be on the Sunday......unless Mr Whelan once again is magnanimous to bend to public pressure.

If Warrington have a home game in the final weekend then they would more than likley play on the Friday night. The HJ is being used for the championship finals all day Sunday and so the RFL would want the Saturday for the pitch to be prepared and for the TV companies to swap over.

Hull City are also at home on Sept 22nd so that could affect dates.

Good post, but only the losing week 1 top 4 teams will be at home on the 22 Sept weekend so Hull (and Huddersfield) won't be at home.

Unlikely, but both still do have (mathematical) chance of making the top 4.

Then best we win the first game. We dont want a repeat of last year's screw-up in the play-offs.

From what I remember of last season's play-offs, the week two games were scheduled for TV slots on Friday and Saturday, and Latics were at home on the Saturday. It looked as though it could end up being a problem, but Sky seemingly didn't have an issue with moving our game against Catalan to the Sunday. I presume it would be the same again this season, if we're put in the same position.

They should move their game to the Reebok or even better, capacity wise, to Standish-with-Langtree Park as Whelan threatened to move them there permanently a few years ago!! And half of St Helens supports Latics judging by the number of shirts I see when i'm there!

As primary tenants, Latics don't have to go anywhere.

I would love the SL to bring that rule in aswell. That would put one of us up shoyt creek and forced to get thier own ground.

And how would he fund it?

If that was the case we'd be playing at Leigh Sports Village or The Stobart Stadium. It's inconceivable the council would pass such a development and IL would laugh off the idea of funding constructing a new stadium.
