Reading today in the League Express that he's signed for my club, Batley, for 2012. Made one first team appearance for Wigan last season, but can't find much info about him. Has anyone seen him play for your Academy and can offer an assessment of his ability? Thanks very much in advance.

Was always a reliable, solid performer for the under 20s. He was always going to struggle to break through at Wigan though as he was playing second row, a position in which we have had lots of competition for places for several years now. He was also a little lacking in size for the position compared to his peers at Wigan. Didn't do too badly when he did play first team. Can't remember if he went out on dual reg or loan so don't know if he has played at Championship level before. Hopefully he will be able to do well at Batley.

You're getting a damn good professional. Has a good work ethic, trains well, good attitude and is one of the best tacklers around. It's hard to explain why but he just lacks that certain "something" that would make him a regular SL player. That doesn't mean he's a bad player. I think he'll go really well in the Championship.

he was at blackpool the year they went under and looked a promising player then, stood out in that division, he will do a good job for batley.
