Looks as though we'll be hosting Crusaders' final Super League hurrah in September now, then. Will be interesting to see what sort of squad they still have left at their disposal after today's news, and what sort of frame of mind it'll be in. Wouldn't want to take anything for granted, but it could be an even softer final game of the season than it already looked before today.

If the Shield comes down to points difference, we should now walk it, a SL record score wouldnt be impossible.

If we have it by then, a great chance to rest half the squad.

Rugby league usually doesn't work like that. The players have pride, are sportsmen by nature, will want to go out on a high plus they will be playing for contracts at other clubs.
They won't make it easy.

True, but it'll be interesting to see what sort of squad Crusaders are left with by the end of the season. They pulled in a few players on loan from South Wales a couple of rounds back when they suspended half the first team for 'misbehaving', and if they're forced into cutting costs just to see the season out, we could be up against a side that's even less 'Super League quality' than their first choice team already was.

Twitter would suggest otherwise, a group of players who have been screwed over massively, they will have no desire to play for Crusaders again.

Can't say I blame them either.

Those who get contracts sorted before the game won't give a shiny one.

I think they'll turn up just for the sake of it and if they had a 100pt handicap that'd make a good game.

They wont have much of a squad left, can sense a mass exodus just by looking at the Twitter posts. Looks like it could end up being a walking day for us to finish off the regular season.

i wouldnt blame them if they did everything in their power to make the rfl, the game and their club look stupid now, they have been shat on from a great height,

If Crusaders were somehow unable to field a team for any game due to the players leaving/refusing to play, would the opposing team automatically be awarded 2 points for the 'win'?

I can see them having very few, if any of their first teamers left and it looking like we could rack up a score then the RFL deciding to scrap the game and takin.g all other clubs results against Crusaders out of the equation

Would be nice, but I can't see it coming down to points diff now, that would need either us or Wire to draw one of the 4 remaining games (other than the Wire v Wigan one).

If Jarrod Sammut's (and others') tweets are anything to go by, I'd be amazed if they have a first team squad to put out.

Depends on wire game, but it might not even matter us winning. Don't think they'll have many good players left and we can play reserves. We'll still win anyway.
