He had an awful game.

He didn't keep the teams apart properly, and allowing both teams to lie offside meant the game was a down the middle, scooting type game with the short ball on the inside being the only variant over the Noble style one man drive. It was an exciting game because it was close and there was a great finish, but it wasn't a classic in terms of quality.

Thought his controkl of the play of the ball and the 10 meters from saints was aweful, not surprised a saints fan think he was great.

He was bloody terrible. it took him 36 mins to award a penalty against saints when there was at least 5 blatant penalties should have been awarded prior to this

I think he forgot what a penalty was today.

Still the best ref in SL though. Not got much to compete with really.

Very good. Game could have gone either way, he did his best not to influence it too much.

He let the game flow very well, allowing a few extra seconds at the PTB and not blowing for penalties every 2 mins, so in that respect he was good. Although except for the missed forward pass for Charnleys first* , I thought saints seemed to get all the 50 50 decisions and this let them back in to it from being 22-10 down to winning 22-24

*(just watched it back on sky+ and its nowhere near as bad as Eddie and Stevo were making out, alot worse have been let go this season)

The ref's in general are not doing very well this year, Hicks was in charge of us today, and he was okay at a push, i am really coming round to the idea of the two ref's like in aus, the games seem much better for it in australia. Although saying that a few of your tries from today (both st's and wigan) would have been wiped off, because hicks blew up for at least 4 or 5 forward passes today.

He lost the pea for his whistle ! Thought he was quite poor overall.

I thought silverwood had a shocker meli was hardly ever on side no where near the full ten plus saints got most of the pens.Saints didn't look that sharp and if it wasn't for silverwood giving them bogus pens then they would of never of got back into it.

Or give Saints the penalty that they thought had won the game for them when it was clearly a poorly judged offload? Or penalise George Carmont for playing the ball after he'd been tackled?
