Were s best place park nr ground thanks

Loads of street parking nearby but I'd stash any valuables and Wigan merchandise if I were you, it's not the nicest of areas.

i probably can only make it in car next week and was wondering where best place to park.
no way am i parking on a side street in Salford. had too many bad experiences in others cars

is the car park behind the away end open to away fans cars?

If you have time, then maybe a train stop away

I parked up at the tram stop that's advertised as a Park & Ride just off the M602 last season - think it's called Ladywell. Couple of stops up the line and then a ~5min walk to The Willows - they refunded the cost of the tram ticket at the ticket office too, though I've no idea if that still applies. Easy parking and then straight back out onto the motorway afterwards. No hassle.

We usually park in Manchester City Centre and get the tram down. As previous posters have said, not the safest of areas to park one's vehicle.

If you do park in Manc city centre I'd reccomend the place across the road from the M.E.N (used to be a Boddingtons brewery), £3 (£3.20 if you pay by card) any day as long as you tell them you're not going to the M.E.N and I've parked there loads of times over the last two years and had no problems

Don't be soft! I'm a manchester resident and we always park on Liverpool street, less than 5 mins from the ground, as said don't leave any valuables on show, it's not all "Shameless" round these parts!

Have driven there for years parked in side streets by side and back of ground never any problems at all

I have to agree with the above, there's no reason to avoid parking there. Every time I've been to Salford the car has been parked on the streets near some of the terraced housing and never had any problems. My girlfriend lived there for many years and it's not a 'rough' area it just doesn't look very nice! There are places in Wigan that are much worse, including areas near the DW. Just be sensible and keep valuables out of sight as you would whenever you parked your car and you should be fine.

Have parked on Lancaster Road (top end near the pitches) for the last 20 odd years, never had a problem there. It's a 10 minute walk back to the car then straight onto the east lancs.

There's a school nearby which we usually use - never had any problems.

Always park on Gore Crescent or one of the adjoining roads just next to the ground. Can get busy for league fixtures but for a friendly will be fine. 2 minutes walk, never had any problems at all - but as others have said, it's never wise to leave Wigan branded stuff on display at away fixtures.

Does any-one know yet if there is transport being provided to Salford's ground?

park just off eccles old rd in claremount rd, 5 mins to ground & east lancs also

But my uncle goes by car, and he parks in one of the little side streets, and he hasn't had any trouble yet.

I just phoned the ticket office and there is no transport being put on for this match!!

Manchesters Car Crime rate is even higher than Salfords ,, good call
Claremont Rd, Lancaster Rd , Gore Crescent are all fine and the park n Ride at Ladywell with one tram stop. afraid it only takes a few ' undesirables ' to give an area a bad reputation sorry.

I used to think that way when I parked to walk down to the old Central Park ground.



Watersheddings, Knowsley Rd & the Boulevard were also particularly ' colourful areas ' . wondering if you still had your Car Aerial and all it's Windows when you got back.
I guess todays fans have got it easy.
Soon we will all be in sanitised Plastic Stadia so this may be one of last times to experience one of ' old ones ' .

We park down the road at the side of the 'Hope' pub and we've never had any problems at all. It's about a 5 minute walk to the ground from there and easy to get back on the Lancs after the match.

Will we be able to pay on the turnstiles? I'd guess so but thought I'd best check.
