I think Richard Silverwood has been pretty decent this season.

I'd love to think they're just resting Terry Albert, but that may be wishful thinking.

Bentham was awful in the Wire v Hudds game, which is pretty normal for him.
The bloke is just not good enough for big games either as match referee or VR.
He shouldn't be anywhere near semi or finals.

They're all much of a muchness I'm afraid. Commanded as they are by that idiot Cummings, our refs have a totally opposite mindset to their far superior Aussie counterparts. Ours look to blow as quickly and as often as possible whereas the Aussie refs IMO do exactly the opposite.

Sky commentators do little to help either. I'm sick of Stevo saying "the ref's got it spot on" when he hasn't. In the NRL the commentators waste no time in criticising their refs - and their refs are better for it IMO.

Referee is Silverwood and Video Ref is Thaler. Terry Albert is the Reserve Referee so we had better keep our fingers crossed that Silverwood does not get sick.

He's usually reasonably unbiased, just too whistle-happy, and a stop-start match will suit the Whinos.

I think all referees are poor and have spoiled the game a lot more than helped it.
Mainly because i think they are told to keep the penalty count quite even, so he has to find reasons in penalising both teams.
And once the game is already won with 10 - 15 mins remaining they like penalising the winning team a lot easier to either A. Level the penalty count up or B. to try and make the scoreline less than a one sided game!

Referees are spoke about way too much before and after games and i always say the best referees are the one's that don't get talked about at all.
