He's exactly the type of person we need promoting RL. Knows the game inside out, talks sense, doesn't use technical jargon, good humoured and I'm sure his looks and his Irish accent don't do him any harm either.

Great personality - should be made a key part of a revamped Sky commentary team, it would improve the coverage so much. I've run out of patience with Stevo's cliches and Eddie's pure crapness.

I thought Carney was an excellent commenter last night (and pretty much every time I've heard him tbh). Impartial, knowledgeable, interesting and occasionally funny.

The fact he doesn't have threads all over the forums about him being biased speaks volumes too.

And Carney is also a University graduate, therefore articulate, unlike the two mentioned in the above quote.

Nothing particularly wrong with Baz and Tez, they're funny, but I don't think they have same general interest value as Carney.

I like Brian Carney although he can seem uncomfortable when presenting his Super League Supermen show. I think he will get the hang of it though.

Not only that, they're your typical meat-head Northern RL stereotype. Great people, and they definitely have their place and are good to watch, but hardly progressive.

As was said before, if they made Boots n All more like the footy show, then they'd be fantastic in the Matty Johns type roles.
