Was just going to mention this. Very interesting way of doing things. You get so used to seeing the coach sat on a chair like Morgan actually was.

| I have to admit wigan look a pretty well drilled team this year under maguire. Wigan look fitter, faster and giving the ball some more air than they have over the noble reign.
I liked his interview after the game in which he said he's not getting carried away as it's only week 2.
Even under noble i always said if wigan sort there attack out they would be huge threat to leeds ans saints. I still think wigan need to improve the attack even though they put to good scores on celtic and hull kr.
All in all i was pretty impressed with wigan last night.

| Because I am normally at the match and don't normally watch it after on the telly; but was the chairs thing in the dressing room before the game a new thing or has that been happening a while. It reminded me of circle time. Hull KR players were sat on the benches

I was mentioning this to my dad after watching the game again. It's something that the Melbourne Storm do and MaGuire has obviously brought this with him to Wigan.

| I have just watched the game on sky (recorded) and really liked the dressing room at half time. It seemed maguire set the room out like a meeting, they sat on chairs instead of benches and he spoke to each individual player. Im guessing this is an australian thing but I really like it. It then showed the away dressing room which was a lot different, some of the players could hardly see the coach.
Anyone have an opinion?

| Deacon apart they are the same players as last year but they are a completely different team.
Only down to the new coaching set up under Maguire's leadership.
When we think back to our first two home games last season, what a difference.

| It shows good man management, each player having his role in the game reinforced and then addressing the team as a whole. What I did like was at the beginning of the game, it looked like Carmont, Deacon Fielden and Gleeson was geeing up the whole team before they went out, the management staff just walked out and left them to it, to get proper pumped up. I wonder if they sing in the changing room after they win, like the Aussie's do?

Never mind Maguire how biased is Eddie Hemmings! Good grief you would have thought we scored a lucky win based on what he said.

Well if I put it into a context of what we use circle time for, its about shared emotions, inspiration, support and motivation that enable team/group morale. I truly applaud this new regime. I just wasn't sure if it was a new thing or an inherited one.

| I agree with lots on here and I think basically shows that for the last few years we were not fit or ready for the season.
I did like Mr McGuire's response on the web site about the question "its early so doesn't really matter"?????????? he looked like " what are you talking about" and then politely responded that "we approach every week as though it matters" the words may be wrong but the attitude is what he inferred.
I think that the fans are happy with what we have seen, I am this is a totally committed fit side who have some method of play and isn't it great to see us beat up the other teams????
I can see the Melbourne style but more important attitude towards the game.
We have seen if you went to Warrington (friendly) 3 matches where we have played for 80 minutes.
Can anyone tell me when we did this? Doesn't it also show up our previous regime re fitness? I cannot accept with full time sportsman different levels of fitness, skill yes, fitness and effort no.

| In my view Maguire is showing genuine leadership qualities; leading a team well should be achievable, but lots of people mess it up.
So far Maguire seems spot on.
Of course , the big test comes when things begin to go wrong.........but so far this is a superb start. The players look like they WANT to be there, which hasn't been the case for a while........

| From what I have seen of MM he acts and conducts himself like a true profesional he has stamped his authority on the team, what he has made the players realise he is the boss end of chat, It don`t matter who the player is and how good they think they are it`s his way or the door is there. All respects the the players though they have all seemed to have stepped up a gear if not two, although I have upmost respect for BN maybe this was where he was going wrong. MM seems to be a breath of fresh air something the club was been lacking.

| I've been really impressed with what I have seen and heard of McGuire so far, not that he has done anything particularly earth shattering, or even anything that wasn't blindingly obvious, but that he has done the small and simple things well. People who are good leaders have the ability to make things look simple und uncomplicated, and for most rugby players brains, that is the most important thing!

| It has been simple but simple is exactly what we've needed.
He's got the players fit and got them working their rocks off on the pitch. They're doing the basics well and the basics are what we've struggled on for years.
Saturday will be a real indication of where we're at and what we can hope to achieve for the season. Wire are a good side at the moment and have dangerous players all across the board. They also know they can beat Wigan and that we have a monkey on our backs at the HJ.
If we can win that then this season could be a very pleasing one.
