I think that happened with millward....we could not go lower than that!

At the time, the move for basil was understandable - never in the memory of man would a move for Thorman be so.

I was flicking through some of our highlights from this season the other day on the superleague website and watched abit of our home game against Bradford. I noticed James making a tackle and he looked tiny for a prop forward.

I said at the time i read the link we've got 3 or 4 better propects here already(although I include Prescott when i think he's gone past that level now) and we'd be better developing them.

From talking to Bradford fans we haven't missed out much IF you're looking at the lad as a prop.
They too mentioned his size and said he looks a natural second rower.

ps heard the rumour coming from the Saints board that union clubs are eyeing Eastmond?

It would be a huge blow for Rugby League losing Eastmond. He's got alot of work to do but he's a electric talent that the sport needs to keep hold of.

Hope Saints get him signed to a long term deal.

Until the salary cap offers an exception/discount for home grown players in first team squads, this will continue to happen.

RL cant afford to lose players like Eastmond.

You could argue it's better to lose a player than a club.

But aslong as teams that average less then 5,000 attendances are happy why should we bother about losing up and coming superstars



The game is run by the teams that bring the least to the party............it's incredible.

To be fair though, it wasn't just idiots from the smaller clubs. We've had lots of Saints trolls on here in the past - not so many now that they're struggling of course - who berated us for voicing opinions that the SC should be adjusted to allow us to pay young starlets a lot more. I wonder if any of them have changed their mind?

Sam Obst.. whats everyones opinions on him? Not for one second am i linking him with Wigan in any way, but he always impresses me when I see him play, and ive just caught up with the highlights from the weekend on sky anytime and it looks like he played well again.

Just re-signed with Wakefield for a further 2 years, in my opinion the most underrated player in SL.

I agree, regularly see the lad in the gym, always trains hard and always gives his all. I once referred to him as a poor mans rob burrow, but his form this season has changed my mind, tough player with plenty of heart. Wakefield have done well to tie him down cos i think come the end of the year a few bigger clubs would have been in for him.
