We were lucky retired at 60 + 65 and at Wigan you come under the concessions at 60 but the RFL it's 65, Don't know what Wigan will do when they start staggering the age limit for retirement until the age of 66.

One article in the Aussie press and everyone is going crazy...

I think this is a joke I get the feeling this isn't going to go ahead at all at this rate which will make it very annoying as will mean we dont get chance to be world champions.

However if the RFL have confirmed the game then how do we know that this Aussie Article is even correct? I mean the Sun are always posting b*llocks on their site why not an aussie paper doing the same?

Because it provides a direct quote from the chief executive of St George-Illawarra.

I wouldn't say people were going crazy.

I'd say they were posing perfectly fair questions given that a showpiece British RL event is suddenly in doubt, the main dangers to it being the usual suspects: incompetence from the RFL, arrogance from the Australians, or a combination of both.

No-one needs to calm down, because all people are doing is asking a perfectly reasonable question - is this fixture on or not?

Sorry, but I don't think folk can afford to be too blase about this article when it carries a direct quote from the St George chief-exec, who, like it or not, is quite clearly casting doubt on whether this will happen.

Clearly they're too scared to play Wigan.

What happens if they don't play it, do we become champs or are there no champs?

IF the aussie runner up dont fancy coming coming over either what about playing our friends over the east lancs road to be World Champions.

Maybe turn it into a 'farewell to Knowsley Road' kind of fixture as well

We've already done that. It'll be knocked down by the time the WCC comes around.

Given the club are still selling tickets, id suggest the game is still on. I doubt the club would put themselves in such a position under the IL ownership. He has thus far proven himself to be to canny for things like this!

Why and why does it have to be held over here every year ?

The Dragons put a proposal forward for the game to be played in Australia which would have eased their travel problems and allowed them to play their games which had already been arranged.

Bring it forward to early feb then or the end of Jan in Australia, The Dragons have a game lined up for the 5th of Feb so what about the last week in January ?

That way Wigan get a competetive game under their belts before the magic weekend, its like we have some devine right to have the game played over here. The Aussies usually have had to travel over with virtually no build ups in past years, whats wrong with our clubs doing the same ?

Its not having a pop at Wigan, i`d be saying the same if it Was St Helens, Warrington, Leeds or Salford that was involved in the WCC.

Because the RFL have been the only ones keen to put the game on.

The Dragons put a proposal forward for the game to be played in Australia, that was knocked back by either the RFL or Wigan. They must have checked Wigan`s commitments before putting any proposal forward as it would be pointless proposing anything that wasn`t viable.

Personally i think it should be played on a rota basis between Australia and the UK as thats a level playing field, if that can`t be agreed then i think they should scrap it as the Aussies arn`t as keen as we are about it.

Because it gets in the way of their traditional Friendly but if Wigan went to Australia it would mean travelling to Australia then coming back and playing SL having missed a game and started the season a week earlier anyway.

Imagine how you would feel having your own team inconvenienced that way.

If the RFL are telling us not to worry, start to panic.

Which other sporting body would release details of it's club world championship without having contracts signed and the agreement of the teams playing in it?

An unprofessional and incompetent one?
