Warrington scored early in both the first and second half of last years grand final, but leeds were never more than 6 points away. As you say, as long as theres 6 in it, wigan have the disciplined approach to win.
I'm really looking forward to it, it will be nice to just enjoy grand final day and not be crippled with nerves for once.

If Wigan hit the front with a couple of minutes to go and you hear the sound of microphones falling to the ground it will be Eddie and Stevo setting off on the fabled "Wigan Walk".

| Don't worry, its ours. Big Fat Garry Scofield predicts a Wire win in the League Express, just as he predicted a Leeds win last week.
He couldn't pick his own nose with both hands.

| I think the bookies have Wire by 2. Marginal favourites but too close to call. Plenty of big game experience in both sides. I just hope it's decided by the teams and not a howler from an official.

I'm confident of a Wigan win

| I think it will be quite a decent Wire win, by perhaps by 12 - 14 points.
I know I am biased but I am writing my prediction with my head and not my heart.
I think our attack is better than Wigan's & our defence is as good as yours. The key loss for you is obviously SOL, who is a great player. Even if Sean plays he wont be match fit & we would target him.
So its a Wire win for me but we will have to play at our very best, because if we don't then Wigan will win.

| As seems to be the theme head says a Wire win. If it was anyone else I'd be going with Wigan but they seem to have the Indian sign over us the last few years. Much can be made of all our players signing off with this game, but Wire also have a number of their stars saying goodbye and for some of the older and more experienced ones like Morley and Hodgson this is a last chance at glory.
Couldn't predict a score though. Quite frankly it could be anything.
Three more nights of praying I'm wrong, which is certainly possible seeing as I thought Hull FC might just sneak past Hudds.

Nah this wont happen, we have only shipped 30 points once all season and we won that game. Only once have we scored less than 10 points but we did lose that game.
Our average points for each game this season has been 31 points & our average against has been 17.
For us to score 21 points less than our season average & concede 13 more than our average would mean us playing our worst game & you your very best. Its unlikely that both will happen on Saturday.
I am not saying a definite Wire win because Wigan are a great side and are more than capable of beating us.

It's a Wire win for me, by 8-10 points. Gutted if I'm right like.

They just look primed and ready to me, they have the experience of last year and look determined to go one better. They have a decent recent record against wigan and i think they have the class to beat them.
It's also been what, 58 years since they were champs? Sometimes it's just a teams time.
Wigan won the CC almost by default, they outplayed leeds for sure albeit leeds were carrying numerous injuries. Warrington won't be nearly as fatigued.'"

| I dont think that Wire are the mean machine of last year but they are still a frightening side when operating on full cylinders.
Not sure about this one tbh and really could see it going either way.
Some of the performances i have seen by Wigan this year have been absolutely top drawer though. If we get into them i can see us taking the spoils.
Same goes for that lot.
18 -16 Wigan

| I was just thinking of this years away fixture, and how we stayed with a full strength Wire for 70 minutes.
That night we didn't have Thornley, McIlorum, Flower, Dudson, Taylor, Lockers, and Green.
And only played with 3 subs.
Could we possibly have enough power up front with these key players back to do it?

Not even thinking about the league games, this is the grand final. Everyone from both teams will be fired up for this and come out all guns blazing. Really could go either way.

| Tough to call, but I'll go for a low-scoring Wigan win. If it ends up being a shootout I wouldn't fancy our chances.

| Quote ="Bostonslugholes"Well if common sense serves then we should win this one, looking at the statistics of the two super league games against Warrington we have played them twice with depleted teams both games without Sean O 'Loughlin and drew one and only just lost the other with an even more depleted team '"
I completely understand your point of us beating Wigan earlier this season when you had some senior players out. But the question I ask is this, would your 'senior' players have played to the same high level and intensity as your youngsters? From what I can remember your younger guys played out of their skins that night and really made us work for the win....I'm not sure you would have seen that from a fully fit team.
Additionally, Wigan lost something like 7 of their last 9 league games didn't they? I'm sure all those weren't down to injuries.
Could be wrong though.
I just hope this game is a classic, contended by two excellent sides, with Wire finishing on top
