| London should have retained him. If it retained him for this year at a significant salary over what Penrith were offering, London would not have been relegated.

| The man played just 9 games for us but left such a positive impression. This season we would have won more games but even he wouldn't have saved us from relegation. As a neutral I'll be favouring the Panthers only as he is in the squad....

| Mr Gutterfax,
You do your best to distance yourself from the French motormouth, but you both seem to have a lot in common. Perhaps you were separated at birth.....

| The Jamie Soward love in is a little OTT for me. He was a good player for us but not exceptional I thought, seemed a nice guy so pleased to see him doing well in Aus but can't say I've followed him closely since he left

Yeah I mean why would we get excited by a player in our colours playing with skill, commitment, passion and that rubbing off on his team mates to up their game. I mean we've had so much of that over the last few years eh?

| To clarify. Soward would not have kept london up this year. The pseudo french pillock fails to comprehend that sowards performances this year have been behind a hard-working grunty pack.

| Jamie was also under a contractual obligation to return to Australia before he played for us. The concept of him potentially playing for London this season is ludicrous

And we all know how binding contracts are, don't we?
Had David Hughes put up 50% more than Penrith offered to Jamie Soward, and retained Christopher Bailey, Daniel Sarginson, Anthony Clubb and Antonio Kaufusi along with Matthew Cook, and sacked the coach at the beginning of the season, then the team would have done much better. (notice how well Kaufusi is doing at Huddersfield under a coach other than Anthony Rea?)

| Properly drawn up contracts are binding. We could have offered £50m and if Penrith refused to release him he couldn't have stayed.
It's not like football where the sheer transfer value and tendency to short contracts puts the player in the driving seat if they want out. A 4 year contract instantly gives the club the upper hand.
Besides given the option of Broncos continuing to hurl David's money down the drain at an unsustainable rate or starting work that might see a viable club emerge in the long run I'd vote for the latter. Just preferably in a slightly more managed manner than London delivered.

Once the chairman had committed his money, and Jamie Soward was retained, the others would have stayed with a decent salary because they would have wanted to play with Jamie.
That would be obvious to everyone except a stupid old cranky pensioner living at the end of the earth.

In rugby league, when a player is unhappy staying with the club --- even if it is just because he wants to go to an overseas club --- the club usually lets him go and doesn't enforce its contract. It happens all the time in the NRL, most notably recently with Samuel Burgess leaving South Sydney Rabbitohs for Bath rugby union. It happened in Super League recently with Rhys Lovegrove leaving Hull Kingston Rovers for London Broncos.

Idiot. You claimed soward would have kept london up.......no mention of anyone else or hughes paying to keep failing players from 2013. If our defence could backtrack as well as you then maybe we could have stayed up

| A dis-ingenious couple of examples too.
Rhys Lovegrove - released on compassionate grounds after long service with one year left on contract. Jamie had four years to go hadn't ever played for Penrith and was one of their key signings for the next season. Source - Hull KR statement.
Sam Burgess - transferred for a lot of money, not released. Nothing like us offering Jamie more than Penrith pay and expecting them to bow down to us.
I'm sure David Hughes would be delighted to hear from Jean if he is willing to fund such transfer fees, signing on fees and wages. The clubs contact numbers are openly available. Sam Tomkins once muttered about living in London, perhaps we should have blown another million or so of David's pension fund on him..........

| Thank you for clearing up that little matter by using FACTS Halfdan of t'wide embrace.
Now for a little while let's go into that Twilight World where everything Crapdouzle and Garbagefacts says is gospel....
London really ARE Homeless In 2015.
London never ever again release anyone from a contract in order to strengthen the squad.
London adopt a seventh sense ( HINDSIGHT, also know as aftertiming) so that they never ever make errors and always feel they are correct.
They also replace fact with fiction and call it fact.
London are no longer called the Broncos as that was a daft idea.
After the installation of a famous 20 point plan
London are now playing home matches at Stamford Bridge to sellout crowds and there is a two year season ticket waiting list.
David Hughes sees the error of his ways and appoints a headhunted Gutterfax as CEO in charge of a £5m annual budget plus £1m for marketing.
He also appoints a top US sports Administrator to advise him and the new CEO on future strategy.
The CEO appoints Jean as his right hand man stating
" we work so well together on the internet, this seems like a natural progression. Now we can put all our suggestions, musings and plans into practice together in the 'real world'."
After two years at the top, the CEO resigns saying" my work here is done".
London slide back into oblivion without him.

FWIW.......hughes couldnt tempt me with a 6.figure salary or 7 figure budget.......turd.polishing is not my strength.
