That boozer you're referring to is Henry Boons. Nice place. Hands off the prison officer's sandwiches though!

There's more than one brewery in Wakefield. Boon's (Clark's Brewery) is going away from the city centre out of Westgate station; Fernandes' is at the Fernandes' Brewery Tap (now part of Ossett Brewery) in Avison Yard on the way to the ground. I would also recommend "The Hop" (Ossett house) just off Westgate. Sadly I can't be there myself for my favourite away trip of the year. O'Donoghue's (now apparently a tied house for Great Heck Brewery) is probably also worth a visit for dedicated ale hounds, although I haven't visited in its present guise. Harry's Bar (just across the road from Westgate station down a narrow alleyway) is good too. In fact the Elephant & Castle directly opposite the station was serving a mean pint of TT Landlord last summer, or even a pint of John Smith's, if that is satisfactory. (Classic old Victorian boozer.)

After a late night call from Paddock in the pub last night it appears im now going! 10 50 out of Kings Cross is all I seem to remember about the conversation!

I remember something about ST holders getting in to a couple of away matches for free.. is that completely wrong? The Wakefield website says it costs £20 for an adult....can't believe that, more expensive than us. I suppose they need the money....
