over many generations. I had never really thought about the people who worked for the club in ad-hoc and voluntary roles as being community but you are probably close to the truth in describing them as such in the absence of a true community club.

Every club up and down the country has people from the local community associated with them who do things small and large for their clubs and are possibly viewed differently within their localities which is perhaps something this club needs to learn about?

We both know of people who used to put hours and hours of work into the club to assist in it functioning who have drifted away over the past 5 years, some as I said due to perception, some possibly due to association, and some due to other commitments and life choices taking precedence, but all should be viewed as supporters of the game, and hopefully again for whatever reason, back to also being supporters of the club.

It's those who would have rather seen RL in London die than watch us play in the last 6 years that some people have a problem with.

The C word raises its head, the last fallback of every batelooney conspiracy theorist on the internet since the day more than one person had an opinion which somebody else disagreed with.

pray tell oh sage of everything, who the members of this clique?, how did one join them?, what were the rules of their club?, was there a funny handshake involved? did they input hours of unpaid work simply to bask in the glory of a CEO's glare?

I do not know everything, if I did I would contribute to every thread on the forum, I only enter into debate with
anything I do know a little about and when I have an opinion to express, which is what forums are about.

A lot of colleagues in broadcasting and media who visit the board keep saying to me, why do you bother even going on the forum? my answer is as it is the club that I love, they say don't respond to them, but why should I?

It would be great if we could all agree that we will never all have the same opinion and just accept, yes debate but then leave it at that.

Plenty of positives to take from the game. Thought Liam Colbon had a good game and Gower still looks the class act we know he is.

Do hope we get the defence sorted out quickly. Conceding 34 points is what we did on average in every game last year, so we are on target!

we looked better with ball in hand than we did last year, its some consolation. I don't think we dealt with Roby at all well, as others have said he made the difference.

Yeah, wish Roby had bogged off to Oz with Ginger nuts!

We looked like a proper football team, which cant be said about some of the sides in the past.
Only issues are things that can be addressed on the training field and given how much of the team has been rebuilt its no biggie.
Depth and variety of runners was particularly impressive

Watched the tries again on video. Looks like I credited Melling with 2 missed tackles that actually belonged to Rinaldi (who found himself out of position) and Witt (who was picked out by repeatedly by Lomax and Roby).

So, apologies to Mello - not a disaster, just a little suspect at a right centre.
