TC played well against PNG, scored 4 tries and should be apllauded. Some of the New Zealanders who were at my house on Saturday for a BBQ and League fest said that he looked like a good player, took his tries well....and wouldn't have looked out of place in an NRL team...............I understand Listy's "tempered" comments and we have all questioned Turnstile Tony's defence in the past.....but 4 tries in a game is a great achievement......the last England Player to do it is considered the future of RL......yet poor old TC gets bagged by fans of his own club....

Congratulations to Clubby. Scored four tries and played what is in front of him. His winger didn't need to make a tackle which can't be bad though may also be a failing of PNG to go wide. Can't ask much more than that. A tour with England hopefully will develop him as a player. Maybe he will get a chance against NZ or Oz inthe future to silence the negative nannies that predominate on here.

Lets enjoy the positives from his performance on this occasion.

For a club such as ours to have a player selected for any National side is great achievement, for that player to be selected to start the game regardless of who the opposition is, is also an achievement and we should all be proud of that. For TC to score 4 times on his full debut was beyond everybody's expectations, even his I suspect.
There are many players in many sports who "under achieve" when playing for their respective clubs during the course of a season yet when put on the International stage with their National sides give a "stand out" performance. TC did just that against PNG, he was asked to do a job and he did it well.
Lets stop the knocking and when he runs out at The Stoop for the first home game of the season let's show him how proud we are of his achievement. You never know, it may just give him enough of a boost to give the club a "stand out" performance in every game.

Glad to see Clubb get his tries, I really felt he should have been picked against Australia, largely because Cudjoe virtually never plays centre at club level, so it was a big ask to put him in at Test level even if it is his "favourite" position. We can point out the weakness of the opposition all day but players can only play what is in front of them. Clubb was given a chance against PNG and took it well. Hopefully that will boost his confidence and help him kick on to the next level. Next we need to see him given a sterner test and see if he rises to that...or not. Goodness knows we need some centres to come through and for that to happen we need to give players like Clubb the opportunities.

The one thing i did notice was he didnt run ot of the line so much head hunting or going for that tackle that leaves a gap in defence and his winger to try a cover two players like he was doing for us last season. So all i can say what ever he was being told or taught while away with the England setup is that he remembers it and puts its into pratice with us next season.

Then again sounding abit double dutch here (crazy i know), we wont have a coach (i hope) he tells him to go into the forwrads and help carry the ball up so that when hes back in the centres hes to knacked to run at fulll tilt when we on attack..

As a team are we starting to get a bit of size about us??
