Not really disappointed coming away from the game because as soon as I saw Jerry wasn't playing and saw the team line up I knew it would be a tough ask playing Salfords best 17, especially after losing Seb so early who is head and shoulders above our other prop forwards.

Crippled with penalties first half topped off by the 2 40-20s from Salford in the 2nd which led to tries and the knock on by Murphy which did the same and at that point it was game over.

3 weeks on the bounce we lose a player for the game - this week Salford player leading with the elbow and once again have to play the rest of the game with a players less, maybe we should start playing dirty as well although it will probably lead to us getting men sent off.

I never ever want to see the Mellor Murphy centre wing combo again in my life because it is the worst combination in the league by a mile. Mellor is a good 2nd row but hes terrible at centre.

Gaskells defence was really poor today playing in the halves - seems to be better at defending in centres.

Also really unsure about McIntosh myself - very poor on the wing.

For this game if we knew Jerry was injured I would have stuck with Mcintotosh at FB and Rankin on the Wing (where hes been playing for Wests) as he didnt look fit to me at FB..

My thoughts for coming weeks - If we lose Seb due to injury and we have no players returning from injury over the next few weeks we will probably lose our next 3 games and end up in the middle 8s.

If we can get a few players back we will pick up a few points and be in the top 8.

The result is definitely a whole lot less worrying than the injuries. There's still plenty of room for optimism but the team sheet for Friday may tell us a lot about where we'll finish this season.

i also dont think mcintosh is improving , seems to have levelled off, to be fair though near the end he set up leeming and scored a try but for me id rather give ormsby a chance again ahead of mcintosh.

mason was for me the worst player for us, two knock ons... dickinson surely has to get in ahead of him now

Yeah strange that, thought Mason was getting a raw deal earlier in the season and kept saying that he should be playing. Maybe Stone saw that he was not good enough and now it's showing?

his improvement has levelled off

last season he played alot of games but that was only because of our crippling injuries in the pack, rapira had to carry the pack last season

dickinson or even smith should get a crack ahead of mason now

I was surprised when Mason was named as I thought Dickinson was far better against Wigan.

I also was very disappointed with Ta'ai I expected him to put in a big stint after Seb went off and he ran the lines not to get the ball hid in the centre position and blindside and his one big hit near the line was because the option was to get mullered. Was very poor by his recent standards against Wigan too. Almost like his minds several thousand miles away. If this is the new Ta'ai take a transfer fee while we can...... unless he shows what he can do in the next two games.

Still a long way to go yet but go forth and multiply your wind ups are out of place here !!

Thought Rankin had a very good game when 17 players played badly, Don't get why Darnell is getting stick - guess it's cos he's the latest academy product who's not set super league on fire yet !!

Seb and Jerry are our best 2 players, we were always going to struggle playing a top 3 side without them. No excuses from me, Salford were quite simply a lot better than us on the day !!

Im not giving Darnell stick Daz., I just think hes not suited to the wing, when he fills out more and gains more strength I think he will be quality.

Rankin ran the ball back well but his positioning was very poor.

the best team won yesterday and i thought salford played very well i may even have a flutter on them winning the challenge cup, looked very good in are 20. Anyone notice taai didnt seem that interested? hopefully get some players back for next week.

I think he's still a bit off with his match fitness. We all know what ukuma is about. Give him a couple more weeks and he will be ripping it up again.

Poor performance, but considering all the injuries plus the last minute injuries plus the on field injuries and playing against one of the best sides in the league I think all giants fans can remain positive.

Hopefully get a response next week, but injuries are definitely a concern. It's o.right saying that we should have back up. But when you're back up players are also injured then it's always going to be tough.

taai has just come back from a long injury lay off, he wont be fully fit yet... we know what he can do when fit..sure he will improve to his usual standards in the coming weeks.

The 'hit' in question was rated the number 1 hit this week by Barrie and Terry. If you watch it, Flash went in with his shoulder, and it was poor technique that landed the Hudds player injured. It was nowhere near an elbow. Clear as day.

Correct, i said at the game it was his own doing rather than foul play, he went for the big hit, got it wrong and we were our best player down for 70+minutes.

Thankfully he'll only miss on game rather than out for a period as without him we are massively weakened!!.

Hopefully back sooner rather than later. Nobody enjoys seeing guys knocked out like that. We all love a big hit, but these things sometimes happen. He was certainly a big miss for you on the day.
