Just seen todays YP. In it Nathan Brown rips into some unnamed coaches re grapple etc. He says:

" "A couple of other 'drop-kick' coaches from other clubs have already brought that up too. I don't mind Terry but those other two 'canaries' ring each other up and they ring their mates on the footie shows and they have no idea," said Brown.

"They wouldn't even know what freakin' football is all about. I could bring eight things over here that the referees wouldn't see or know about. "

Clearly some small minded coaches are moaning about the Giants. At least matterson - though wrong - made his comments publicly. It seems other coaches have not got the minerals.

Love it. A bit of straight talking. Brown is the sort of coach who opposition fans are going to love to hate. I am a fan of his style I just hope we do not get unfair treatment from the refs as a result. I wonder which coaches have been moaning?

Bearing in mind what Matterson said about him it is not surprising that he let rip. For matterson to say our tackling is bad is one thing to accuse Brown of deliberately training the players to do it is another. Although there is some history between these two.

As for the effect of Browns comments you need to balance the effect between creating a siege mentality among the players ( good for team spirit) and possibly making referees more hostile to us bad for the team and us fans. For Brown to try to become the Jose Mourinho of the SL will be exciting and risky

As far as I can see the Giants have always been the dirtiest team in SL and Brown is just keeping up that proud tradition.

Seriously before the normal suspects have a hissy fit, it's a mans game. If one team plays it rough (as Matterson sees it) you front them up. You don't run off and complain to teacher, not unless someone really gets nasty - I have seen no evidence of this..

It's simpy not true. Forget your hissy fit rubbish. I'll readily admit we used to be spoilers in the Smith era because we were relatively low on skillful players. I admitted it at the time. But our style of play has changed a lot in the last 3 years. We are not a dirty side.
