Hoping for 5k

not happy in the way the club and the game is run when seeing the fixtures and the number of Thursday games decided not to get a season ticket am i fan from the 70s. as for Ken he employs thewis as a club let rimmer lose at the RL and we where one of the clubs that wonted the new SKY contract and didnt hold out for a better deal that would keep games away from Mondays and Thursdays

For me the Thursday friday and Monday games can all be nightmares! I work three shifts so on Lates and nights games are a no no with out holidays! Has even been times where I have taken reverse half days on nights and gone to the game gone to bed and for up at 1.30am to go to work! They aren't ideal for a lot but it's worth it to see the lads and as frustrating as it is sky offererd the contract and the brass and secured the future of a lot of clubs for many years to come! The fact they mess around the fixtures and have days which don't suit all (most) is worth the security in a sports where too few body's are passing through the turnstiles for too many teams!
As for the season tickets the price is cheap, you get discounts for the shop, the finals, the magic weekend and a discount card I believe, one of the cheapest in the league! Can't complain! It was easier to fork out for my family's passes now than try find 50 quid every other week!

You never know what's around the corner. When my other half lost his job at the height of the recession I was so grateful we had our season tickets. We had to tighten our belts, cancel various activities our kids were involved in to ensure we could pay the mortgage. it was so nice to still be able to have a day out as a family every couple of weeks - kept us going!!!

Bang on jools, you never know so if you have the brass now why chance it

As I mentioned above one season a while ago I didn't get a season ticket

I missed so many games because I just didn't have the cash that week and I hated it so never again, and if I'd not had one the season we came top and coulnt go to that last game - I'd never forgive myself

I can tell you now it won't be many.

No one ever hears any numbers, just '"sales are going well", "up on this time last year". Maybe the club think it's embarrassing but i would rather know a figure than none at all !

Can`t blame the club for not increasing season ticket sales. They are charging reasonable prices compared to other clubs, in fact the cheapest if they are to be believed.
The main reason I think is the irregular fixture list, due to SKY moving matches to different days.
One example of this is that 4 of our last seasons group of supporters have not renewed for 2015 mainly due to missing matches. This is because of shift work as Thurs/Fri/Monday depend on if you are on days or nights if you can get to the game.
Sundays was no problem, they could get to all these, and were prepared to miss out on the odd Friday night game, but it was too much to ask when Thursdays/Fridays and Mondays were added to the equation.
If this is repeated throughout our crowd we may be missing out on say 500 supporters.
And in my opinion it is down to SKY.

the very same SKY who will quite happily slag our support off... hypocrites!


maybe the club could contact people who haven't renewed in the last 2 seasons to find out what reason they didn't renew, i bet a large percentage of those would say it's down to fixture scheduling.

Giants using the tagline 'cheapest season ticket in super league' , maybe if you are sat behind the posts yes but not many buy those. Does marketing this way help the club, we have tried all these cheap tactics in the past and its not helped, we just get flack from other fans who seem to think we dont pay full price for our tickets!

the club has to take some of the blame as they are one of the clubs who wonted the new sky contract salford and i believe more more club wonted to Waite and negotiate a better deal with B T sports now in the market meaning sky needed rugby league more than we needed sky

just out of interest, what was the price for the cheapest season ticket in superleague? are they adults or kids?

hull fc were selling season passes for £150 for adults albeit only 150 for our 150th anniversary

Cheapest behind the sticks were £120 for early bird. Gone up now to £270.

That sounded a great deal, if i wasnt able to afford a pass for the sides of the ground i wouldnt turn my nose up at them prices and seats, at least i would still get to go to games

have some very fussy fans here at the giants, wont go anywhere near behind the posts no matter what price.

we wont get any numbers from the club on how many we have sold but think we should be aiming for 3,000?

cas have sold 3500 upto now.

Richard Thewlis indicates that sales are mirroring last years, looking like coming in at approx 4000. In league weekly interview.

Target for this season is 8000 home average (which he would be 'delighted with'.

thats great news, prices have gone up and sales are about the same as last year when we won the LLS so thats very good after a relatively poor season

Some points from it;

3 community officers starting in January, with aim of developing fan base etc.

Current crop of youngsters felt within the club to be strongest since cudjoe - Bruno - jerry.

Club target to be a top 4 team consistantly as minimum.

Club were not fussed about world club championship. It would have cost club to enter. Interested observers of how it develops.

Targets for 2015 and onwards are to be playing in big finals, and they would "to attract an average home gate of 8000 supporters next season would be a wonderful achievement for us".

Club attracts players much easier now. "We don't ring them any more, they ring us".

Recruitment all done for next season.

i agree about the youngsters, we have seen connor and johnson come through and expect to see the likes of dickinson next

so it was the club that didnt want to compete in the world club challenge not the rfl who changed the rules!!
bit disappointed with this from the club, shows lack of ambition? they say they want to compete in the big games and win yet dont want to be involved in this. But sure it was down to money in the end and wanting to spend elsewhere.

think we have already achieved being a top 4 team in the league, we all know its the play offs now where we need to make an impact.

good piece on leroy cudjoe in rugby league world magazine too this month, saying macnamara said he looked tired and needed a rest as to why he wasnt selected for england... he certainly needed a rest did cudjoe, expect to see him back to his best this time which is very exciting!
Cudjoe has his theory why we lose in the play offs, saying we dont compete at a high intensity week in week out, not putting games to bed and playing for 80mins at our pace.. then we fail to raise our game like the other big teams when it matters.
