. It just goes to show what a poor idea this was. Virtually all of the Toronto team are british, so no probs with their away games. British teams going there are sometimes going to be forced to play them with an understrength team. Gonna make a very easy path to SL

Seemingly Oxford had no problems with their Visa's but the Wolfpack had two players refused entry for the first home game although now resolved, Barrow have four players refused entry for tomorrows game . All the teams in this league need to apply early for Visa's as any court conviction in the last six years could cause a Visa refusal or the Nationality of the player. The Rugby League need to sort this out if the expansion into Canada is to continue.

The RFL can't dictate Canada's visa rules.

Of course they can't it's up to the individual to apply for a visa to any Country but R.F.L could advise on the time it could take and the legalities involved. Barrow were caught out after being told it could be done in 48 hours.

Shouldn't have that been in Mr Perez's business plan? After all he and his consortium are funding the venture not the RFL!

Apparently the Wolfpack are putting all the visiting teams in basic student accommodation. Not in the spirit of the arrangement to fly teams over and pay for their hotels.

Yes, Oxford complained about this right from the off, and were relocated.

The visiting teams have been on an aeroplane for 8 hours. They deserve better than a camp bed and a kettle.

Forgive my cynical attitide towards the worst idea ever to have been had by the RFL Peter. So Barrow twitter feed says one thing, meanwhile the Barrow players (the ones actually allowed in to Canada) seem to contradict the Official social media stream. Anyway they have enough half backs Peter

6,281 spectators 1st game 7,144 2nd game in the third tier better than some Super League clubs can attract be interesting to see if they can maintain this level of support throughout the season.

When you get your away following up to 1000...no I'll give you a chance.. 500. Then its good idea. Were there any 'staged' brawls etc this week. Its all very glamorous isn't it. Its great for british rugby league as that is what wants expanding...nah its still a bad idea. If the guy has money to burn maybe he should set up 10 teams in Canada. The fact this set up has nothing to do with the official Canada RL says it all.

I am neither for or against the expansion of the game in North America I have an open mind on the subject. My interest in Toronto is that the bulk of the team and the coach are ex Leigh and have given me a lot of pleasure in the recent past and wish them all the best in their venture except if and when they play Leigh.
As far as your comment on away support goes I think that will have to come from UK residents as I can't see supporters travelling a round trip of 6,000 miles to watch a game of Rugby. Many Super League sides don't have more than a few hundred that travel to away matches even when the match is under 10 miles away let alone 3,000 and the away support as no bearing on the success or failure of the venture.

Neither does the home support. Yes they gave us lots of pleasure but to me that was completely nullified when he started his campaign to destroy the club. We just differ in our opinions thats all.

....just as an aside visas are dealt with and arrangements sorted via Toronto Wolfpack. Convenient that..

Visiting sides get bed and breakfast in hostel style accomodation which the RFL officials refused to stay in. The remainder of meals for the 3 day stay had to be covered by the team/players. All this according to a press report this morning.
