| Very much needed time off for the lads. Wonder who we will have back then? Hopefully Higson can rest whatever injury he has had for the past couple of week. will Tonga, Higham and Patterson be back? I hope so.

| Bongser was afraid at HT in the Wikings/FC game that we'd be spending that extra week holding up the rest. Thank Goodness the real Widnes turned up in the second half (sic).

Saw the 'non squad' players for the Wakefield game, training yesterday (on that pitch near Leigh East) Maria was sprinting looked fine, as was Tonga. Corey was not there though (he might have left early) but why have we had no updates on his injury ? It's like Bob Beswick (2016) SILENCE from the Club !

Tonga, Maria and Higham back in training according to Jukes ( in an interview, he didn't just ring me )
Think Pattersons situation is out of the clubs hand, and things best left unsaid until resolved one way or another
Let's hope there's none on report from this week and we might start looking something like come Salford

Careful Budgie lad, you'll have the 'don't be negative brigade' out.

Seen comments about a (is it) chicken wing tackle, if true a lengthy ban and not sure which tackle it was - the guy does seem to live on the edge, but at the same time does slowly seem to be controlling himself better. Reckon he is going to be at the top end in a season or 2, and I had pretty much written him off at the start of the season

| The way I saw it was that Fifita just wouldn't go down and wrapped his arm over Acton's head. Acton appeared to use said arm (what was it doing around his head?!) to effect the tackle.
Based on last week's Disciplinary quote of the week, when the high tackle on Higson, was due to the player (AJ) "changing direction", Acton should be ok, as this incident was definitely down to Fifita refusing to go down in the tackle!

Yup just how I saw it , Fifita wrapped his arm around Jamie's head , they fell over , Fifita lies stretched out with arm , then jumps up and walks off smiling

I struggle to believe any player feigns injury, but a lot of Trinity players (and Catalans when they were at ours) appeared to get injured when we were putting pressure on their line. Another excellent, apparently legitimate, slowing down tactic is lying behind the play the ball - creating havoc for the dummy half.

I noticed this as well. How many times did we make a great break, and got close to the Wakefield line, only to be stopped from playing the ball quickly and subsequently losing all momentum due to a Wakefield player suddenly being injured in back play. This must have happened at least 4 times. We must get smart and use this tactic at the other end.

Wasn't there a recent rule change that helps the offending player cheat in this way?

Agreed, but it rarely is. Granted, there are times when the 'offending' player may not be able to roll away, but to just lie there, clearly impeding/delaying the dummy half is 100% unacceptable. I'm sure we could get the tactic outlawed, if we try to use it!
