Should we keep our current badge in the new era next season or re brand the Leigh Centurions logo?

Who's design is the new one ? is there any copyright etc ?

I think we should drop the 'Centurions'

I agree not re-brand but un-brand and there should be an option on the poll for 'Coat of arms'

Regarding copy right I don't know who designed it although slight alterations that make it a new piece could sort copy right issues if it's already owned hopefully.

Quite like the design above, but also would like the coat of arms, don't like the present one.

Do like the new design, less cartoonish than the old one. Can't we have the Centurions badge and the town coat of arms on? Like Australia and New Zealand do and Great Britain did, one on each side.

I preferred the previous logo, but I'd much rather we stuck with the current one for a few years at last and give it a chance to 'build' as a brand.

That could be done smartly although I do love the massive coat of arms on the back of the jersey's of late.



I use to be of the same opinion but a lot of coat of arms look similar so would our coat of arms stand out any different nationally & internationally to the likes of wiggin, Fax etc? IMO no.
A Centurion logoed brand is more identifiable so IMO for the greater cause I would stick with a Centurion logo of what ever design that may be.

The COA would stand out differently if it was the Centurions shield.

Where has this idea come from ? Have the BOM said that we are looking to change. I would rather we stick with what we have instead of splashing out whole new designs...................................we'll be voting on playing in Primrose and blue next playing

Guilty as charged. I saw the logo on facebook's 'Leigh Centurions banter page' where the response was good. Having time to think about it a rebrand would cost the club money where I'd rather see it put it to other use for now.

Sadly you can't copyright a Town Crest or Coat of Arms. So you cannot use one in the million and one merchandising opportunities that clubs needs to survive. That's why pretty much everyone has a unique copyrighted logo or a self designed crest. The badges are merely marketing tools!

It would look good although my car has tinted windows so you it wouldn't work on mine

If there was any time for a rebrand the It would be now. The club hasn't been in better shape than ever currently and a logo like that is a really good sign of our intent and fearlessness. The coat of arms on the back of the shirts is fantastic and if there is a wish for it to be on the front why not on the chest with the new logo like on our Super League kit of 04? Also I think the new logo is better because of the dominance of the red and white; rather than all the black and grey on the current.

Would be good to get merchandise to the kids connected with Roman Centurions. Plastic shields and swords, leather SPQR wristbands, plastic Centurion helmets. Problem is the cost I suppose but Leigh need to build on the marketing opportunity of the Centurion theme.
We could improve the whole match day experience by throwing Frank to the lions at half time. Or have Charlie tightrope walking over a pit of venomous adders.

Don't know if it can be done, but how about a fun day for kids on the Roman Centurion theme, preferably before a big game. You could imitate the Roman Games at The Coliseum. Throw a blanket around Frank and stick a sprig of holly on his head and Hey Presto! you have Julius Caesar!!

You could have Chariot Races with four kids pulling another kid in some mock up cart.
Kids could do battle with those padded sticks they used to use on Gladiators.
Tug Of War - Kids dressed as Centurions against kids dressed as Lions and Tigers etc...
Sacrifice effigies of Wiggin Rugby players to the Lobby Gods :O)

The kids would love it and it would get their parents down and maybe new kids would start watching Leigh. They're the fans of the future.
