Leigh Centurions can today confirm that Stuart Littler and Oliver Wilkes will be joint Team Captains, and that Bob Beswick will retain his Vice Captaincy for the 2014 Season.
Head Coach Paul Rowley commented;
"Stuart and Oliver are both highly respected professionals and both have a huge amount of experience at all levels of our game."
"Stuart finished last year as Captain and did a fantastic job. He's a solid leader, and a good representative for the club around town. His main role will be to strategically lead our backs around the field this year."
"I've known Oliver for many years, and played alongside him, so I know that he is definitely good Captain material. Whilst Stuart will predominately lead our backs, Oliver will perform the same role with our forwards, as well as representing our players who travel over from Yorkshire."
"Both players will play an important role, communicating between the coaching staff and the players, which of course is vital for us to successfully execute our game plans."
"Bob Beswick will remain as Vice Captain. I didn't want to burden him too much with the communication side of things, as he's very much a man of action, who inspires our players by leading from the front."
"The boys have had some very tough training over the last few weeks and in that time many other natural leaders have shone through. In fact I'd go as far as to say that every player at some point showed the ability to lead, be strong and inspire others, which can only make our squad stronger as a unit."

| Seem like good choices to me. I read something in an article interviewing a young Ireland player (I think it was James Mendeika) just before the World Cup and he named Stu Littler and Bob Beswick as the 'leaders' within the squad. I think that is a credit to them especially with some great players like Pat Richards, the Grix brothers etc in that side.

So's Ollie - born in Cumbria, and apparently multi-lingual!
