Steves dad Jim was a very good friend of mine ,im not too sure how much this tragedy has effected Steve , but theyv were very close , i agree Steve is to good to be lost to the game .

I have a personal message on my phone from Steve setting out his reason for leaving and also and i Quote " My time at Swinton has been brilliant".

Of course, it is correct that Steve could probably find a better club than Swinton - there are 19 clubs in pro RL, along with some other clubs who serve as part time reserve sides to some of the 19 independant clubs. If Steve came back to club coaching in RL, he's good enough to make the step up from reserve grade coaching at Swinton to first team again at one of the 19 independant RL clubs.


But far more importantly than that, I hope Steve can resolve his personal issues and get things back on track for himself. Hope it works out.

Great bloke with great rugby knowledge and attuitude. He certainly knew how to take a joke and a wind up!!

Been unfortunate at times in his career but hope he has success with Scotland and is back in the game at our level very soon
