Probably still a bit premature to be thinking ahead to next year but.... This season has been very competitive with most teams acquitting themselves well - Swinton have pushed some teams close and only Hunslet and York have really been off the pace. Will this be different in a 14 team league with the 3 Cumbrian clubs and Doncaster joining?

I just get the sense that we will see a top 8/9 and a bottom 5/6 clearly emerging over the season and there might be a few less competitive fixtures. On the plus side, average attendances should benefit from the Cumbrian derbies, although Lancashire still woefully under-represented.

I am not sure if there will be relegation next season (I would think it unlikely given the make-up of the division below) - the absence of it this year hasn't been an issue as the bottom two teams emerged quickly from the pile. Next season, there could be a good relegation scrap to keep the interest alive at the wrong end of the table, if there IS relegation of course!

Championship 1 will be "intriguing" to say the least - who knows how strong the new clubs will be or what their fanbase will be like..

Bradford should do ok!

I would think Oldham and Rochdale would be mightily p!553d off if there is no P&R between championship leagues next year - and would perhaps see the end of one or both of those clubs!!!

Rumour has it P.Rowley would be coming to fev when DP goes to SL.

Why was Gary Hetherington and his Mrs out dining with Darren Powell last night ?

Mr Hetherington paid the bill too and didn't leave a tip.

They were in the poshest eaterie in Leeds. The manager is a mate of mine( after sharing a pint with me) before our Challenge Cup game with Leeds.

He often rings me if he thinks there might be something to tell me that he knows I would be interested in.

I actualy like the bloke but I think cas will not help his reputation as a coach.

Think Basil was told sort it year 1 and you will be judged on year 2, depends who is CEO and whether Cas can afford to pay him off. His dress sense is back to the good old days again judging on last nights show, I look forward to that Brown raincoat re-appearing soon.

Think Basil knew we couldn't afford to pay him and was given permission to talk to Cas/anybody. That took a huge lump out of our wage bill as we already had PR.
