I have heard a few opposition fans saying this recently , and i know the season isnt over yet , but surely Paul must be in the running for this award ?The guy didnt have a playing squad late last year , he helped assemble a squad on a shoestring , and has developed them into what seems a very tight knit team , playing for each other , with good morale .

We still have the end of season final positions , but i think 2nd place is now realistic , put that together with our Challenge Cup run , and NRC run , i think Paul has done wonders for the club , and a nice bloke also , Paul you get my vote anyway , well done so far

I must also say the Back -room staff at the LSV are very good ,last night i experienced the match from an Executive box , and was looked after from start to finish , well worth the money , well done Leigh Centurions , for making my night .

Well if he isn't coach of the year, there's no justice in this world.

He has certainly put pressure on himself for next season. Don't know if that is a good thing or bad for him.

He has done excellent job so far, and being a leyther is a bonus as well.

I think he has done a fantastic job ! But if DP leads us to third league leaders shield on the trot and with putting out cas in the CC then for me its coming to Fev ...



On a side note though I had a gander at the email from Mr Barton and to be fair I think he needs some kind of recognition to take you from where you were last year financially. Just saying like

A must for me. He and his team have got that squad running through walls for the shirt and it shows the lads class.

Great shout, I'll openly admit I was wasn't Paul's biggest fan at the start of the season but now I'm looking forward to renewing my season ticket already, the squad we have for next season and the unity we seem to have within it makes me think we could do really well next term.

He certainly is a very, very strong contender. Coach of the year shouldn't be about who produce the best team, it is as much about the circumstances in which they have performed. I can't think of another Championship coach who has had to contend with what PR has. The fact that no sane Leigh fan would question his right to be team coach after this season, despite significant opposition from some quarters (me included) over a number of years, speaks volumes. Lets face it, would Millward have done any better? I doubt it.

Well done Paul and well done to the board for backing him when others doubted him.

I mentioned him on a 'coach of the year' thread on the VT, which listed all the SL coaches.

Pauls done far, far better than the lot of them.

Would get no arguments from me. He's done his job proficiently and quietly and hasn't engaged in any tit for tat mind games; or had a suspended fine for that matter. Has had to work with a squad that must have been wary of financial problems at the start of the season and brought the club to a second spot finish.

Obviously it depends on how the play-offs go but this guy should definitely be the favourite.

, but i feel DP has not done himself any favours by getting the Fine or his moaning at times about other teams tactics , or Coaches ,while Paul Rowley has presented himself very well , never moans about Injuries or other teams tactics just gets on with his own job , so me he should be given the Award .

I do agree about Trevor Barton though ,the man put a lot of time and effort into Leigh Centurions , i know hes not everybodies fave guy , but i like him .

Well like others on this thread I agree he has done a magnificent job.

Should we end up going to Fev however lets see if he can come up with a game plan to give us a win or a close game.

For me that would involve closing down their halves' slowing down Fev's ptb (as they do) and tightening up our left wing defence which I thought was shaky against Fax last Friday.

Now pick holes in that Charlie.

Yep fair play Charlie, I agree the guy has done a great job given that he was slated by Mamy leythers Before you even kicked a ball. Funny how some have changed their minds.

On reflection I reckon he would be a worthy candidate.

Has to be Powell for me, if he takes Fev to a third league win in a row. Outstanding. Paul Rowley definitely deserves a mention though, along with the two promoted coaches. They've come up and competed in most games and served up a full blooded cracker yesterday.

The fact we are talking about PR as being a candidate shows just what a fantastic job he has done as a coach this season whatever happens from now on in.

I'd have no problem if Paul Rowley was given coach of the year. He has put together a good squad at Leigh against the odds at the start of the season when a lot of people, myself included, thought Leigh would struggle due to the pre-season problems that your club endured.
Good luck for the remainder of the season in the playoffs but not when you play us away at LSV.!!!
