Dave Whelan has said that he will pull Wigan Athletic out of the Premier League if they scrap P&L. Maybe he'd like to withdraw Wigan Warriors from the top flight of rugby league.

Good on him , he understands the problems a licenced Premiership would cause his club , ie , being stuck at the bottom without even a relegation battle to play in ?

My point is he's quiet happy for Wigan's successful rugby league team to be in a league with no P&L.
He's talking out of the side of his mouth.

Mr Whelan has never been considered a real RL fan , he needed the Warriors to be successful to help the Latics , no love lost either way

Can't believe that our league next season will have no promotion to SL and no relegation to Champ 1, its a pathetic situation.

And Champ 1 will have no relegation and almost half of its teams promoted!! Does that mean no Play offs for Champ 1 next year? Or will it be 1-3 automatic promotion spots 4-9 make the playoffs.... and only the poor sods in 10th missing out?



Knowing the RFL they'll promote from Champ 1 via a franchise system and send up skolars, gateshead, south wales and the dublin dolphins



Getting embarrassed about RL at the moment, and I am normally very proud to be a League fan. Best game in the world but as a 'sport' in this country its just pathetically run.

And as for whichever heartland clubs don't make it

, well they have an exciting 2013 to look forward to , hopefully we'll be shaping up by then , because relegation in 2013 will really be a drop into oblivion

A column in the Express today includes this:-

"Look at almost anywhere in football's pyramid and you will see attendances which no other country can match because it is a coherent complete system. Promotion and relegation are what make the whole system work."

The only people who don't agree with that are in charge of our game and have managed to ruin Rugby League.
