I know Tommy Sale MBE was taken ill at Widnes yesterday. It was before the match, he felt unwell. The Widnes doctor attended to him and then an ambulance arrived. He has stayed overnight in Warrington General. Does anyone know how Tommy is today. He has my best wishes and I know those of everyone on this site. Get well soon Tommy.

Thanks for the messages of concern. Tommy had a funny turn just before the game. He went a bit grey, but remained concious. He was taken to hospital and was kept overnight to check on him. He has now been cleared to come home and is being picked up soon.

Am half way through Tommy's autobiography. Have watched Leigh for 60 years, but still had little idea of his contribution to his club and town. We would probably not exist but for him.
He is truly a 'legend' in the true sense of a much overused word. If you have not read the book-get it!
