I think you are right and quite honestly if all Championship clubs could generate a million quid profit clubs would be able to sell shares to their supporters.

Widnes's chief exec should be made Governer of the Bank of England.

CLUB of the year? It's different to TEAM of the year? What Fev achieved on the pitch is rewarded. with league leaders shield and maybe grand final trophy!

Congratulations to Widnes, any club hitting the £1m mark, 2500+ crowds, and a good youth policy must be doing something right.

A massive slap in the face for Fev. Still, I'm sure they won't mind if they win on Sunday (as we didn't in 2004 when Whitehaven cleaned up the awards, and we cleaned up the trophies).

Went to the awards dinner in Manchester last night. Leigh were not well represented lets say. No Arthur Thomas, no Alan or Paul Rowley, no Ian Millward, no players - very poor really. From Leigh I saw Brian Bowman and John Stringer and I saw a guy from Hattons Solicitors - they were sat with Featherstone directors. A Leigh Director was there Mr.Beevers, he collected an award for Leigh but was out of his depth, couldnt answer Barry McDermotts questions. Not good really.
Wonder if the Halifax gans who come on this site might find out why nobody from Halifax turned up at the presentations.
Just seen the Leigh site where Mr.Thomas says he is proud and praised the work of the Community Staff and they deserved their award, why did they not appear to show how proud they really were.

Maybe they had something better to do, I could think of a thousand things.

As has been pointed out , previously clubs winning on the pitch haven't necessarily won this ' club ' award

That will be TEAM OF THE YEAR for fev. Club of the year is profits,over 2500 average gate, and youth.

Blinkered and obsessed, at least there are one or two of you who can differentiate between "Club of the year" and "Team of the year".. Mid table or not we're doing things that are the envy of even some Super League clubs and have deservedly taken the honour. Suck it up those who can't see past what goes on on the pitch.
