Have been thinking about this and am wondering why we held a superb side to 24-16 in the second half.

Anyone think it was the HT team talk or Warrington taking it easy ?

Course they were at full strength we weren't.

this was the first time this team has played competative together you can do all the training you want but playing in a game is compleatly different
And it was IMs first look at his team in match conditions i do think IM will know exactly what is required from now on Morty took a big hit and still got up and scored the last try Things can only get better

totally agree, it may sound daft considering we shipped 60 points but that second half left me feeling very optimistic for the season ahead.

i though warrington started the second half the way they finished the first half tbh.throwing the ball about ,keeping it alive in the tackle,decent kicking game.dont know if they were running as hard as they did in the first half i think you need to ask our players that?from our point of view i think we kept the ball a lot better we defended better as a unit, wernt giving penalties away and we played some good stuff most of which did'nt come off but will against teams that are not in your face so quickly.imo

There are positives to take from this game mostly from our 2nd half performance which I thought was good considering our team was half the size of theirs in build, strength & depth at least we give something to them. Lets be fair we're a championship club playing a SL side with great internationals who are the current challenge cup winners it was always going to be against us to win the game. Playing in our own league at our own level I think we'll come good this season & I reckon we'll smash Oldham all over the pitch in the NRC game which I'm looking forward to along with playing the pies

Warrington changed things around in the second half and made a quite few interchanges and until that happened they kept us to nil....or so Tony Smith said

For me, the scoreline was a bit harsh.

We made 3 stupid mistake to give them there 1st 3 trys! The 1st 2 trys were litterally identical, we gave 2 pens away in each set of 6 and they came up our end and scored, then donlan made that schoolboy error (sorry schoolboys, you would prob ov done better) n gifted them a 3rd!! from that it was always gona be a walkover!!

2nd half - Milward clearly got stuck into them and game them a lift at H/T. I don't think wire took it easy I just think we were miles better in the 2nd half and our defence definatly improved and we worked much more as a unit! In attack, we look FAR more dangerous!!

Keep the mistakes down to a minimum and we should walk that league this year!!

I don't recall that one but back in the day it was feasible to beat a better established club money has ruined this game unfortunately.

Totally agree the Dire will do well to make the top 4, they should be safe from relegation though...

Doubt Wire took their foot off the gas ,Tony Smith would'nt allow it i'm sure ,we just played better rugby thats all culminating in 3 very good tries plus a couple of nearly almost ones too.

Cant believe no one has mentioned wire going back into the dressers after coming out at H/T.
