Could be good news for us that

Gleeson surely would demand a higher pay packet/contract than Mathers ? With him moving in the other direction surely the pies will have to release/offload/free up some more on their salary gap unless they were not already at their limit?

This could be good news for us - I'll take Darrell Goulding who appears out of favour this season with 3 appearances after 22 per season in the previous 2 seasons

With Goulding and Phelps both out of favour and Lenegan looking to 'build a partnership' with Leigh maybe he could send the pair out on loan to us?

Was in todays MEN that Goulding may be signing on loan for Salford this week.

as I`ve said on other threads......would take Phelps to Leigh - avarage SL player, but would be superb at our level IMO.

I think Wigan have boobed again big style. Always thought Glesson was over rated and I wouldn't have let Richie Mathers go the other way as part of the deal either.

Mathers has never reached the potential he showed first at Leeds, but £K100 is a lot of smackers to pull out on one player.

League Weekly were suggesting that W***n were going to try their salary cap dodge of loading his salary into the later years of his contract, again. Yes right - "Martin, would you have a problem, if we didn't pay you anything until 2011?" That's what they tried with Fielden, etc. and were found well guilty!

He may be the best centre in England (to be honest I am struggling to think of anyone else now lol), but to pay £100K and give away Mathers doesn't sound like great business to me.

Giving away Mathers is great business sense.

Agreed. He's been beyond abysmal whenever I've seen him this year. If Gleeson gets his head on the game that he's a top, top player I reckon.
