I recall some english friends went into a hardware store (quincaillerie) to get a length of plastic pipe for a drain connection and the english lady,god bless her asked the man,quite innocently for 'un petit pipe s'il vous plait' - the guy in the shop was rather taken aback cos' the word 'pipe' in french is slang for 'blowjob' ! (true story btw)
Another english friend who moved over used to go to the local minimarket,do her shopping and,on the way out,take a copy of the 'Charente Libre' which is a local newspaper - she just took it without paying for several weeks before realising that 'Libre' didn't mean it was a freebie paper ! 'Libre' in that sense meant the county of Charente is 'Free' ie originating from the freedom from the german occupation etc

the vagaries of the french language are as common as those of any other language - the french usually make allowances for the foreign visitors but will always respect a foreigner who at least makes an attempt to speak french,however badly...

Well up until 13seconds ago, i was fine for the trip. After opening that link in work, theres a strong possibility that i will have been sacked by June haha! I cant wait for the trip, pretty much sorted holiday wise at work

If anyone is on the Wednesday & Sunday flights from/to Manchester then we have 3 minibus seats left to the airport leaving from Leigh, £9 each return. PM me for details (would have thought it's cheaper than a taxi?)

Well Matt we need to arrange travel back to Leigh from MCR Airport as the flight gets in around midnight Sunday.

Anyone on that flight should post on this thread then we can make arrangements.

As said in my post above, it's a return trip so that means a lift to the airport on the Wednesday and then picked up from Manchester Airport in the early hours of Monday.

Well there are 4 of us Matt and 3 live in the Capital so I will ask them.

I can get a train from the airport to Manchester then walk home.

No worries, they're the last 3 seats so that would sort us out nicely if they need them and are on the same flights. Give us a text or a PM once you know.

If everybody cancels their Toulouse trip and donates their cash to the club ,it would raise a few extra Quid,CMON Franky lead the way

all the french people I've come into contact with connected to RL have great respect for the brits so why come out with that tripe ?

Toulouse is my main holiday this year so no I'm not prepared to give it up. Looking forward to it....apart from the 4am meet up 4 the minibus!
