White Van Man is just as bad. Driving home from Leigh on Sunday the M6 in South Cumbria was down to 2 lanes with 3-4 inches of snow in the 3rd lane and WVM, with total disregard for the conditions and other road users, were still trying to use the 3rd lane

Bad weather or not the Trafford Centre area is heaving as much as its ever been at the moment. Called it a day at work when it started to snow heavily thinking it wouldn't be as bad as rush hour....

Yet again in this country a slight deviation from the norm & everything grinds to a halt. It was apathetic effort by WMBC & The Highways Agency, they should have been out on Saturday evening/ Sunday mornining gritting & then we would not have been in the position of snow falling on already frozen roads, they really are useless, unless of course it is looking after their index linked pensions that alot of our poll tax goes on.

I spun my Passat at the Findlay St / Railway Rd Junction this morning. So this evening I proceeded with even greater caution - and did it again! It's lethal out there.

It's not the conditions , it's the idiots behind the wheels , nipped ASDA earlier , a woman in a Vectra was stuck half out from a parking space blocking the exit road , so myself and another bloke got out and went to push her car off the ice she was stuck on [ neither of us were blocked , we were heading into the car park , as we were pushing the car back , some loon in a little Citroen pulled out 3/4 cars down and nearly wiped me out , he then had to stop ten feet past as the road was blocked there

F***ing idiot

The shear ignorance and selfishness to behold on that car park was unbelievable

would that have been around 5-30? i went past asda and saw quite a queue on the car park

Probably the same team that has designed the bus lanes in the town centre and the road layout that causes unnessassary chaos at tea time.!

Speaking of new layouts. What are the lights for by the Town Hall at the top of Lord St? Are they planning on making Lord ST two way again?

No they have moved the pedestrian crossing lights further towards the turnpike.

The grit that is put on the roads in winter goes straight into the river systems and is absolutely wrecking them. The salininty of the rivers in winters jumps up. This kills our native river life that fish need to feed on in the winter. I quite like driving on the packed ice any way. Try using shanks's pony.
