| Difference is that if you hadn't segregated the fans at Blackburn v scum then we wouldn't have had a stadium the floowing morning.

| Evening kickoffs at home even on sundays has got to be a goer. Don't think the opposition would have it though.

I know why it was done but that doesn't matter, its the fact that it can/could be done at LSV without the restriction of having to have reserved seating.

We get little support coming here as it is so I don't think alienating the few that do make the trip is good business sense as I doubt it will bolster the home support unless we kicked off at say 5pm on a Saturday then people can combine it with a night out.
I admit it's better for some people but I stil think the majority would be happy with 3pm on a Sunday.

| Quote ="Alexs Dad":36tnqkpiI disagree there.
The people who will get in for free will fall into 2 camps - those who come normally and pay on the gate, and those who would only come if its free.
If the latter will only come when its Widnes and free then they're of no use anyway and the efforts spent on getting kids/families in instead, whilst the former could lose the club up to £10k in gate receipts.
Hammering our cashflow against Widnes is financial suicide especially when we've next to no income for 2 months during summer.'" but the club should not rely on away support ,any we get ,should just be counted as a bonus amount.
Maximise our home support first, like maurice said encourage schools with deals for the sheffield games whilst the time frame allows us and I think the family tickets are a golden oppertunity for the club to catch all the lapsed fans from previous years.
The let people in with season ticket holder really doesn't bring in any money

| The problem is with any offers is who pays for it?
Any discounts for the Sheffield game would have to be funded by the club or a sponsor, any for the Widnes TV game is funded by the Co-op.

Would they have a choice? Barrow play Sat evening.
Also, we had a 25% increase at the Batley game which was brilliant - what we don't know is what the crowd would have been on a traditional Sunday 3pm KO. Was the increase due to it being Bank Holiday or was it due to an evening KO or was it simply 'cos we are playing better?
I really think a Sat evening would be the best option (probably 6.30).

| It's on a Thursday evening and should both teams remain in good form we should be looking at around 600 travelling to Leigh. If it were on a Sunday afternoon that would be a 1,000.

| Saturday evenings however - have a look down your street at the number of people who are indoors then as opposed to a Sunday afternoon.
Sunday afternoons presents far too many reasons why not to bother. Super Sunday on Sky, Christenings, Fathers Dad, sunny days out with the family etc, verses 80 minutes of RL is always going to be a problem especially for the floating fan.
Saturday evening as a start of a night out with either the family, mates, or the wife is a bobby dazzler.
There is a reason other clubs do it and it's not because they dont like watching Thex Factor.

I'd prefer Fri night but thats a personal choice for weekends away.

| Changing the kick-off times and day mid season is defo not a goer, as I'm a season ticket holder and work Sat evening.
I would therefore want a refund and there would be one less plus my kids from the attendance.

| Are the terms and conditions of use printed on the season tickets?
There is usually a clause in them that reads to the effect that 'the club reserves the right to alter or change the day, time, or date of any game and that the said season ticket gives the holder admittance to that game, yet no refund will be given if that game is not attended.' (or something similiar), thats the reason in all the years I was working shifts I never bought one, as its usually a standard clause.

Nothing like that, Fred. Mind you, have you seen the size of the 'swipe-card' ST?

| Personally i think people just need to get down to the LSV and see the improvements that have been made on the pitch, a couple of years ago when still at Hilton Park my wife went to every home game and a few away games and she had always tried to get me to go (as my mentality was Footbal Football Football) i final gave in and thoroughly enjoyed it and have been to every home game since and a season ticket holder for the past 2 seasons.
The point being when i started watching Leigh they werent doing that well but i stuck with it, now where sat at top of the League and playing some fantastic Rugby, this is the time to yes as someone said earlier on let people with season tickets bring a friend for free, or even half price.lets say their is 500- 1000 season ticket holders so possibly 1000 extra people who you would get through the turnstiles and lets say 10% of people that are brought came back there is 100 extra people and even if you say half price an extra £7000 gate money.
Another point is all them kids that came in the south stand in the Barrow game my lads was there and cuase me and my wife already had season tickets we asked another of the parents of my lads team to go with them, the other parent has now been to the last 2 home games and asked me when next home game was she cant wait.
Its all about getting past supporters or new fans down to the LSV to see and enjoy the towns Professional Rugby team kicking ass on the field.

Each day is different, Saturday for example would see 1,000 from us, Thursday? not sure if it wasnt on TV. It's still a tough day work wise for a lot of people.

IIRC, the poll I did last year returned quite strongly that Sat 6pm was likely to return an increase in the gate compared with Sun pm.
