I think the opinion of Warrington from the outside is that we just throw money at the problem by buying in names. Can’t argue with it either.

That said, there is a shortage of good middles, but if you can get him fit and keep him on the pitch he is a good player. But his injury and disciplinary record are well established

he looks like a right dirty s0d... let's hope he can channel his talent for RL rather than his talent for the dark arts... like Sir Les did back in the day. We need a bit of more controlled aggression in the team...but its totally useless if it spends 70% of its time sat in the stands.

Are we talking about a different Les Boyd? I'd ask Kurt Sorenson, Paul Hulme, Ellery Hanley and Andy Gregory about that tbh.

I adored Les but the only reason he didn't have his own parking space at the RFL disciplinary meetings was because the game was rather different (and better) then.

Is McGuire passed his best? Yes. Will he be better than what we have for the next 2 years? Also Yes. Very dirty player, which is lovely news….

About time we had some housery in our team.

The 'Les' we got didn't receive a two year ban for gouging whilst playing for us. He was still a player that dished it out in in the Primrose and Blue BUT he did channel his efforts MORE into the great rugby player he really was.

At this rate we should easily get back out of the Championship next season.....

Used to be amazing but hasn't been good for a few years now, not excited by this at all to be honest. But i will support him and give him the chance to prove my doubts wrong. Welcome to the Wire.

This is the key thing. Same with Morley, who had a terrible disciplinary record at Leeds and got banned a lot at the Roosters as well, but when he came to us he cleaned it all up. It's one thing having a past if you clean your act up when you get a shot with the biggest club in the world.

You watch, he'll come over, play a blinder for 3 or 4 games then lay out the opposing teams mascot "for a laugh", get a 7 or 8 game ban, go touring round Europe with his family then disappear quietly back to Oz with a load of Wire cash in his pocket......"thank you for the opportunity, sorry it didn't work out, wife/kids/pet koala bear homesick, wish the lads all the best to the future, Karl couldn't have been nicer to us, etc" ......

As long as those 3 or 4 games he plays a blinder are the semis and grand final in 2023, I won't mind if he gets banned and buggers off.

We have been saying we are too nice for a while, hopefully mcguire will go some way to addressing that. Let's see if we are moaning about disciplinary issues this time next season.

The game & the disciplinary have moved on ... that silly Dylan Napa (Catalan) is a fine example of a "tough man" arriving in the game.

Are you saying you wouldn't take a 25 year old benny Westwood again right now because the game has moved on? There is still loads of room in rugby league for a tough uncompromising player, so long as they realise their first contribution should be effective disciplined rugby.

We can't write off mcguire as an ill disciplined waste yet can we, he could be a brilliant signing.

Just what we need to charge our team up. Even if he gets banned a few times, it's worth having his influence to fire up the forwards and get some much needed aggression in our game.
