| So Thewlis to fullback and does Lineham come in and if so does that mean Mamo misses out which I personally would not want.

| I guess much depends on whether Austin's exclusion proves to be a short-term or long-term thing. If he is still out, then I would imagine Inglis to full-back, Lineham and Charnley on the wings, King and Mamo in the centres, Ratchford and Widdop in the halves.

I said Inglis to fullback after the last game but some thought not, so if he is to stay centre I really don’t see how Lineham could come straight back in.

Based on a meritocracy I'd agree. I wouldn't pick on Mamo or this game necessarily but there is sometimes a need to keep things fresh, in addition to Lineham acting the goat and forcing the issue, as we shouldn't rely on flogging the same/best 17 every week.
We'll have some natural selection through knocks and fatigue, but if we believe that a drop in form should be in the selection mix, effort and good form should be rewarded.

| I wouldn't want to play Inglis at FB for 80 min. Yes he's class, yes he played there last week but he's had one game in 2 years so he's rusty and finding his match fitness. Ratchford and Thewlis are FB's, Mamo 3rd choice in that position.
If Mamo doesn't go FB then your wings are any 2 from Mamo, Lineham and Charnley. Although he had a better game last week I would say that Charnley should be the one to miss out.

Well, Price seemed happy enough with how Inglis filled in at full-back on Saturday, so it's certainly an option. Might be good to have Austin on the bench, to allow for more flexibility if a reshuffle in the backs is needed during the game.

| I have watched the game twice now and I will stick with my selection of the backs for the Cup game this Friday.
FB Ratchford LW Lineham LC King RC Mamo RW Charnley Half Backs Widdop & Austin.
If Greg Inglis plays I hope he proves me totally wrong and scores a hat-trick.

I'd really like to see that back line. At the same time I have zero expectation it will happen

Thewlis needs games. He is too good and too young not to be given a chance in a Cup competition.

| I'd be happy with lineham sitting out an extra week on the naughty step with austin.
We've not missed either of them, he doesn't get to waltz straight back in.
Might make him think

| Genuine question- how badly has Austin played?
The right side has been ineffective but is that Austin, Hughes, Mamo or Charnley or a combination?
I really don't know what the best option is but SP could choose Ratch at f/b with Austin in the halves and Mamo on the wing with Thewlis missing out.
Mamo has done nothing wrong. King had a mare at right centre but I can't see GI missing out - and that could be our downfall.

Well it doesn’t look like blame lies with Mamo, Charnley just scored on the other side so... My view is that Austin has not been pulling his weight leading to an over reliance on the bomb at the end of sets.

| I’m a Lineham fan but it’s a no for me. He can work his way back in. I like the idea of Austin as a super sub if he’s out to prove us all wrong.
However, Thewlis at FB with Inglis in the centres and Mamo out wide seems to be the general consensus. Can’t argue with that.

| I'm a big believer of if it ain't broke don't fix it. Why change a winning team, the only change should be an injured player. Put Thewlis at Fullback and leave it at that. I didn't see the game as i don't have a season ticket to watch it, but i don't know how well Akouala played to keep his spot but i would prefer Mulhern over him.
Leave lineham out as we're not missing him and he should wait his turn.

| Although I’m all for giving young players an opportunity.
I think that Austin will come back into the side with the reliability factor coming into play, as Stef will resort to full back. King and Inglis at Centre, Lineham and Charnley on either wing with Mamo named on the bench. That would be my guess anyway, I’d be pleasantly surprised if Thewlis plays at 1.

It’ll have little on the conscience of Lineham.

| Can’t believe l look to be the only one who wants to see GI remain at fullback all season. If Austin makes his way back in, I see centre as his best way back in and also probably his best position. He could be our Jamie Lyon.

Maybe worth a shot in the centre (Austin) if injuries give him the opportunity to come back in. Although he has the footwork I’m not sure he’s nearly creative enough to be a Jamie Lyon type centre. Or consistent enough. I’d rather see him as the utility back on the bench who gets brought on when the opposition tires. An expensive utility back mind you

That was my guess.
Mulhern replacing Akauola on the bench and Walker dropping out for Mamo. Davis can play interchange dummy half if Clark needs a break.

| Mulhern in for sita, thewlis in for Ashton, I would have Austin on the bench this week if he is wanting to earn his spot it could be a trump card coming on if we need to change the game.
