Utter utter garbage again and.I'll tell you why...

The opening ditty wasn't impressing or funny but I rode it, then some boring chat about facial hair...however i let that go as its the return of the panel...then!!!...

Either you have a proper interview with Andrew Henderson or you don't!!!
It's disrespect and not at all funny to have supposed sound effects spoiling the chat, even if Hendo was in on it

You had faults last season. I told you respectfully so you could improve...like editing out idol side chat...we don't won't to know about!!
The show being far far too long....I'm a busy guy, jut cut and cut again until you have meaty soundbites...I can do 10/15 min of a blog max.

I'm aghast at how bad that was...it may have been great after Hendon interview... (I use loosely) I'll never know. I stopped there.

I respect they may be voluntary blogging but I'm not being rude here but honest. Not only did I advise them last season but some other rlfans told them! They haven't took any of our advise on board and we're the ones who are there target group.

Never listened and won't ever listen. I know who does them and i know they can't talk Rugby full stop. the headlines and aren't amusing and the pictures they put on facebook are also $h1te.

They clog up the board every week with misleading headlines that turns out to be their crappy show that no one cares about or comments on. Get rid.

These guys deserve a lot of praise for the hard work they put into the content and production quality of this podcast. However, as others have said, it is totally spoiled by an over emphasis on smutty schoolboy humour. There is sexual innuendo in almost every line of conversation, to the point that it is horribly sexist as well as boring and irrelevant. I can't imagine any woman listening for more than five minutes. Get a grip, guys, as we'd all enjoy a Wire-focused poscast, you're not giving us one, you're trying to be the Viz of the podcasting universe . Not enough straight RL editorial material? Just do one a month, then.

Honestly audio quality put me off before I listened to much of it.

Quite a few things could be done to clean up the audio.

Saying nothing.

I listened to about 5 minutes of the very first one, and switched off. I haven't had the slightest inclination to listen to any that followed.

I’ve got to agree with the posters above and I tuned out after two or three episodes.

It’s obvious that a lot of time and effort has gone into it and if the comments here are taken into account and it’s cut down to a sharp half-hour I’d happily give it another shot.

Personally I enjoy the pod. It took me a couple of goes to get into it but I rarely miss it now.

Admittedly I have the same sense of humour as the podders but I could see why it would grate if you don't.

I still think some of the comments on here are a bit OTT but hey ho.

My view is similar to yours. The lads must give up a lot of their time to compile the shows. I can see why it's not for everyone though as they can step over the line from time to time.

RD's critique is totally correct. Given the time and effort the hosts are putting in, they may as well produce a good product as churn out something cringey.

As someone who has to navigate the commute to work in London and runs a lot, I consume a lot of podcasts, and you see a huge variety in quality. A good podcast can beat other forms of media - for politics and NFL I much prefer listening to the podcasts I subscribe to than the mainstream news which is soundbite-dominated. In a 40 to 60 min podcast you can get a level of interesting discussion that you just don't get from other media sources. But a lot of podcasts just fall flat. Other than issues around set up (poor sound quality is an immediate killer) the single biggest turn off to me is when the presenters spend time trying to be funny (especially with cringey humour), chatting about their personal lives, side jokes and whatever. The listener has downloaded the podcast to listen to someone discussing the topic of interest, not to hear about the hosts.

There are some really good football podcasts: my current two favourites are Nessun Dorma (90s football) and These Football Times. They are nostalgia podcasts talking about previous seasons, teams and players which is right up my street but they cut out the side talk and have some really interesting discussion with different viewpoints added. Another good fan-led podcast from another sport is Mile High Report (Denver Broncos), the hosts cut out any attempts to make themselves the focus of the show, they aren't trying to be controversial or have hot takes but offer interesting viewpoints that are worth listening to.

Just for a bit of balance, I quite enjoy the podcast and appreciate the time effort they put and am more than happy to hear their opinions on players and opposition. It is a bit long but as I am retired am not really bothered.
Many posters and readers’ on here think that many of RD’s posts are utter garbage but we still carry on reading what he has to say. Just hope he doesn’t continue to go on RedVee as it makes him as bad as Saddened & Co.

Everyone has a right to an opinion. I don't think it should be a personal one...not that it bothers me. Makes me laugh tbh.

I should have added to my post, that I appreciate the time it takes to record podcast's as I occasionally record video game videos for YouTube, I don't put much effort in as I work full time and I have no real interest in "Making It" on YouTube.

However I have invested in a Behringer mixer and XLR Mic with noise filters and buzz boxes because I want to have stuff sound and look good.

I don't know if these are being recorded with everyone in the same room or using the likes of Skype etc, but before I got my mixer and implemented a noise gate etc I used Audacity to remove as much background noise as I could and reduce the bass on my voice.

I will give them a listen at some point as I might enjoy them.

I've never listened to one of these podcasts in my life. I see one, I DONT CLICK ON IT, as I have no interest. Yet, people say they are 5h1t, BUT STILL CLICK. A word to the unwise. If you don't like something, don't use it. Just give it a wide berth. In 1986, I bought Bon Jovi's [iSlippery When Wet[/i (yes, I know). I hated it. Consequently, not a penny of my hard earned goes to the poodle haired plonkers. When they're on the radio, I change stations.

There's obviously a market for these lads' output. Let them listen to it.

The problem is I love reading and listen to RL...I want to hear podcasts.

RD and yourself obviously have your own views on what constitutes a good sports podcast, but that just means that this pod isn't for either of you. I'm sure there are satarical takes on football and NFL that you avoid for the same reason but that doesn't mean they dont have their place.

I assume that the name and style of the pod came from the unofficial match day programme which i remember being sold outside Wilderspool back in the day which also took a satarical view on The Wire. In that sense the pod is true to its roots.

I don't get the impression that for a podcast focusing on a single team, they stuggle for subscribers, hence I can't see the format changing and RD shouldn't get upset about his feedback not being taken onboard.

It does raise an interesting point about whether there is a gap in the market for weekly fan pod on The Wire without a focus on satire.

I totally agree. It's not like the old days where you'd get collared at the bar by some opinionated sole mouthing off whilst your mates laughed at you from a safe distance as you attempted to make your excuses and leave.

If you don't want to read / listen / see something then just go and click on something else instead.

And remember, there's a complete and utter plonker on every forum that the rest of us laugh at. If you don't know who it is - then it's you.

The thing is that I and others WANT THEM to succeed with this podcast. Irony, sarcasm, sattire, all to the good, but mimicking the smuttier aspects of Benny Hill, not from time to time but in almost every other sentence, is killing what in other respects is a good idea very well produced. We're in the 21st Century. In the 60s and 70s sport fanzines, like University rag-mags, would include pin-ups of scantilly clad women, it was acceptable at the time but would be (rightly) decried nowadays. If podcasts are the 'new fanzines' then its clearly not appropriate now. Of course I can stop listening, but I'd rather give them what I hope is constructive criticism. If, after all this from genuine Wire fans, they decide to keep the smutty tone, I'll leave them to it and the ( I suspect ) very niche audience that they will be left with.
