I see Widdop is looking to return from his shoulder op this weekend. With the Dragons in real danger of not making the play offs I wonder whether we are working to bringing him over to the club early.

There would be room on the cap if the Atkins rumours are correct and the fact we got dispensation for Kev Browns salary.

If Gaz came over at the end of the NRL season he would arrive ahead of the Leeds Rhinos fixture on the 13th September.

What a boost this would be to the squad ahead of the play offs.

True but can't see them letting him go unless they are mathematically out of the running. I'm not sure that will be the case by the August 9th deadline as there will still be 5 games of the season left.

What is all this nonsense about not playing someone in case they get injured? This is rugby league, any player in any team can get injured every single time they take the field. If widdop was ready to play In September would people really say 'no, let him have a good pre season instead'. He could just as easily get injured in the first game of 2020, as could any player in our team.

I'd rather an 80% Widdop in a Grand Final and a 100% Patton. Anyway, if he's been cleared to play that means they are 100% confident in his shoulder.

If we can bring him in early, we obviously should. I doubt that we can though.

Could we sign him then loan him back out to them? Seems to be our thing at present

Reports and fans said he did a good job on his return to the game at the weekend. Fans on the Dragons forum are dreading being without him next season.
Can't wait to see him and Blake together for us. Really hope that 2% chance his op fails, doesn't happen.
