i cannot comment on other games, but Westwood wraps his legs around a player he was tackling which has been illegal contact for some time. Toby King whilst it may not have been malicious or intent, it was a classic old fashioned spear tackle, stupid and reckless and lucky it was not red card. No good playing the victim.

i said at the game westwood would cop a ban by the way hurrell went down. On watching it back i've a little more sympathy as he was concentrating on ripping the ball and hurrell bent over and westwood went with him cos he's a big basket.

Westwood wraps his legs around Hurrell, right or wrong it is illegal and Westwood done this before i think he will get a ban, just don't do it, its not like a reaction high tackle heat of the moment thing he consciously does it.

To be honest ,dropping Dwyer on his back wasn't the brightest of moves either & i'm surprised we didn't finish with 2 in the bin.
As for Westwood wrapping his legs round Hurrell ,this was outlawed years ago but most weeks we see refs not enforcing it across the board. More consistency is needed with the matter.

I think we got off lightly.
We could have had Austin charged with a forearm in the face, things might have been much worse.

In the past they used to use a form with Bennies name pre-printed on it.

one of the reasons he has lasted the years so well, could be the vital rests he gets throughout the season...... He does long minutes during the games.. only fair he sits a few games out here and there.

Both very blatant, no need for any controversy on here. I called Westwood's at the time, it's something he's done previously and it's been banned for a while now. Having said that it's just instinct to get a bigger, stronger man down rather than anything particularly malicious. The King one was very silly, lifts, turns and drives. Lucky not to have been sent off, fortunately the impact wasn't bad. He would possibly have been better with a red, judged as sending off sufficient, than the yellow and a ban. He isn't a player that strikes me as being dirty, so I'm not sure if he'll have any previous. Shame they don't still have the EGP thing.

At what minute in the game did the Westwood foul take place guys?

They had it in for Wigan as well remember, singling them out for salary cap issues, and then not letting them host a World Cup game.

Technically they are at Leigh.

Wigan's about the same distance from Leigh as Warrington is from Widnes, so it would be like giving us a fixture at Halton Stadium.

Widnes is in Halton borough and Leigh is in Pie borough.
There is a difference...and I did say technically....and Warrington centre is closer to Widnes than Leigh is to Wigan.

When Patton signs for Leigh are you gonna claim your Wigan scoop as "technically" a rubber duckie exclusive?

Back on topic as I said Wire was lucky with 2 suspension's as 7 players from Wire had incidents citied.

I don't mind these bans for dangerous tackles/ contact but what frustrates me is that there will be incidences the same or worse this week that don't even get a penalty never mind a ban. I'm all for upholding the rules but we really need consistency in the reviews process.
