| not pretty but second half much better. Dont under estimate how big a win that was. If we can take Catalan next week then that should be it and we can relax and play rugby with the pressure lifted. Lost tonight and next week and it would be a totally different outlook.
That was a good result for us, no matter what the performance was, especially with a couple missing and it will give the confidence a massive boost and thats all this team needs.

The game changed when Morgan Smith came on as substitute hooker.
His long accurate passes created space for team mates to run on to, & create mayhem in the Smellies defence.

| I'm glad we won that, as mentioned the pressure would have been big next week and absolutely massive if we lost next week too. We haven't been good at dealing with pressure this season.

| I think it is fair to say that Widnes were the more creative team for much of the game .All we seemed to offer in return was side to side rugby followed by a Kevin Brown kick that landed on exactly the same piece of Axminster . Let's not kid ourselves just yet but i believe superior fitness saw us through & allowed us to score late tries that flattered the result. A major key to safety in this competition is amassing a good points difference & i am not yet convinced we can do that.

| Well hold the press, but i was happy with the win how ever it came. The only thing that matters now is the 2 points.
As someone as said win next week and that should lift the pressure and then maybe the players relax and play more attractive rugby, damn was that me feeling positive then, trip to the doctors in order lol.
Hope Crosby not being in the 17 was a knock back on his situation, does anyone know. Life is real crap for him just now, i can relate to that.

| As a Leigh fan and expecting Wire to be too good for this comp, last nights win heaps pressure on Widnes, especially with the off field stuff. It's all about winning enough games to make T3, then build for 2018

| Widnes were desperately trying to hold on to the lead from after the penalty kick. They didn't try and kill the game off.
They nullified any sort of kick return from us by booting it dead every time. Which is good in one way, but surely the better option would be to get a kick in behind Russell.

Spot on, the game for me turned when Chris Bridge chose to kick rather than put his winger in space.

| Surprised it's not been mentioned yet - anyone else notice Lineham drop the ball for his try?

| I think Denis Betts might have noticed. Apparently he is sceptical over a couple of our tries.

| The turning point for me was when the score was 16-14 and we defended a full set on our line then went up the other end and scored. One way traffic after that.

| Na he did not lose it it must have been the light hitting the chemicals in the air giving an optical illusion that he had dropped the ball when in fact he had it in his hands at all times.

| I think a slow motion replay would have shown that the bounce was caused by the impact of the ball on that dodgy astroturf.
His fingers didn't s seem to leave the ball so probably would have been deemed controlled pressure on a video referee decision.
