| Can some please explain to me how he hasn't got a ban for his antic on Friday. Just £300 fine.
Just goes to show who the RFL favours. Absolute joke of a decision.

Probably because he has a very good disciplinary record.

| NO not a joke the decision is based on the following.
" the tribunal took into consideration the significant provocation that led to the incident and the player's previous exemplary disciplinary record."
The disciplinary panel could not do much else after they let Sarsfield off with his offences and they pointed out the following:
" The review panel judged that: Player does make an aggressive tackle on opponent and does make contact with head of opponent during the tackle. Does become involved in confrontation with opponent however does not throw any punches. Sin Bin Sufficient."
So in other words they are saying late tackles on the ground, swinging an arm in to an opponent head while on the ground and head butting are all ok.
Ben Westwood will have a field day when he comes back from the naughty step.

| Peacock appears to have been elevated to something of a darling of the media, being a regular on BBC, SKY etc, which is fine by me as he has been a great servant of the game and is clearly very knowledgeable, irrespective of the fact that he is clearly no threat to George Clooney.
The problem I have is that this, rather than having a positive effect on his on-field persona, appears to have had the negative effect; every time I see him these days he is swearing and cussing at the ref, contesting every decision, niggling opposition players and generally doing a good impression of a Wigan player circa 1987.
This decline in players attitude to the ref is something I've noticed creeping into the game in the last couple of years and, allayed to the fact that refs seem reluctant to dish out 10m penalties or sin-bins as a result, is rather unsavoury. Peacock is one player I'd have expected to be above this kind of behaviour, but maybe I was wrong.

| 3 times during the magic weekend I saw players waving imaginary yellow cards! The delightful Mr Chase being one. Never thought I'd see that on a league field. That nonsense and backchat needs stamping out. Peacock is tarnishing his reputation a little with his gob, maybe Wilkin has been giving him lessons off camera

| Any back chat to the ref should be punished.
Fisticuffs should just be sin bin, with only a financial penalty from the rfl.
No ban.

Peacock has that strangely camp Yorkshire accent, but other than that he's fine. He talks more sense than anyone ive heard in the whole game. He'll be good for the game of he can get into the rfl.
I also thought Jon Wilkin was good. On the field for saints he's a tool. But off it he's a very good ambassador for the game, and came across very well on Sunday. My only gripe was I thought he got to close to the players while they where doing their warm up drills.
In short I disagree with everything you've said.

Peacock talks a lot of sense. However, you are right about the way he sounds which means people don't pay too much attention to what he is saying. That is a shame. People may listen to wilkin because he is more eloquent and better looking, but it doesn't stop him spouting garbage 90% of the time. And on the subject of backchat to refs, it needs sorting and the refs need to grow a pair. I once saw calderwood clap ganson after being sent to the sin bin. Ganson's response? "do that again and this card will change colour". Calderwood shuffled off having been put in his place. Need more refs who will stamp their authority on games and show the players who is in charge and accept no form of dissent.

Haha, I just think that when on telly you need people who speak clearly and Peacock does anything but that, he is knowledgeable but its like hes eating digestives while talking.
Wilkin was cringeworthy with his interviews, he just seems lost on what to ask and then just asks stupid questions!

Agreed 100%, also think the coaches of these players should be having a word with the culprits as it is getting ridiculous. I cant stand watching the likes of Peacock and Brough giving refs grief when they are both ambassadors for our game!

| Indeed nowt wrong with a bit of biff it's part of the game we love. No problem with no ban for Peacock it was retaliatory and not malicious. There's a difference between biff and thuggery....Westwood's GF actions were thuggery and his ban was fair. Carney/Flynn, Peacock/Sarsfield - 10 mins each - job done.
In terms of TV pundits, if Cooper comes back over to ESL he should be shoved towards media work as he's rather excellent at it.

| Was going to post the exact same thing about Cooper, when he's done radio commentary, I've been initially fooled that I was listening to the actual presenter.
He's a confident, intelligent lad, no ermmms and erhhhs.
ideal for the game.

| Not fussed about the punishment etc. It just shows how susceptible Peacock is to someone winding him up. Hopefully we will wind him up in the semi final and he will end up doing something stupid.

I think that he is probably a bit too canny for that and will have taken the reaction to this latest incident on board. FWIW I agree with runningman Peacock seems like a top bloke

I would suggest that being punched and head butted whilst on the floor amounts to more than a wind up. I thought the Leigh player was extremely fortunate and should,IMO, have been more heavily punished.

Could not agree more although, as a player, I think age is beginning to catch up with him.
However I don't agree with any player mouthing off to the referee and he is prone to do this. It is the god given right for supporters to question the eyesight, judgement, veracity, probity, intelligence and parentage of the referee but players, even former international captains, should keep their opinions to themselves.
The referees and RL authorities need to take a grip on this sort of conduct before the game descends into the fiasco that soccer is in, particularly in the NRL where player dissent is even worse.
