What are people's thought on next season? I know we have a great chance of making the GF and without a few blips should have taken the league leaders shield, plus the experience in the GF will benefit us I think this year.

I expected some significant signings to have been announced by now. With Morley, Cooper, Carvell, and rumours of Hodgson leaving and other SL teams recruiting for next year I hope we don't get left behind. I certainly think we need a 'marquee' signing and add more quality to the side. I know we've signed asotasi



Massive progress has been made at the club over the last 5 years. We should keep setting our standards higher and I think additions are needed to do this. Thoughts people?

I want to wait until after this season has finished before even considering next season.

I am also worried about our lack of signings but I think the problem is nobody decent is available. There is a real shortage of good quality players now that the NRL is richer and the pound is weaker against the Aussie dollar so we don't have that avenue any more. Guys like Rangi Chase, Danny Brough are about as big a signing as you can get these days and would cost an arm and a leg whereas a few years back they would be seen as decent but not great signings and a big signing would be Jamie Lyon, Trent Barrett, Matt King etc.

So every team is in the same boat as us and finds it difficult to recruit. I am pretty sure we will be weaker in the next few years than we have been since 2009, there is no way we are going to have players coming in to the team that are as good as the players that will have been going out. Whether we go in to relative decline against the clubs around us is another matter. I think we will be one of about 5 clubs "in the mix" for trophies but we will not be a clear front runner like we have been in the past few years, so we might be trying to win from 4th or 5th like Leeds have been.

The decline in overall playing quality is a problem for SL and we will have a lot of questions in the next few years "is SL losing interest" and it will be blamed on things like poor standard of reffing and the format of the league or the absence of promotion/relegation, but the truth is just there aren't the same calibre of players around now.

Agree with you both but planning for next season shouldn't happen once the season has finished! I still think there is talent in super league and in the NRL who would jump at the chance to join us! We must have some salary free if Morley, Carvell, Cooper etc are off the wage bill.

I'd like us to be THE stand out club in super league not a club that's happy to just be in the top 4! We improved massively let's keep that going!

Plan before the end of the season.....plan when the season is finished. Regardless of what fans think, one thing is for sure......................those behind the scenes will be doing a damn site more planning than we will ever know about.

Do you really think that the powers that be will not already have everything sorted out with regards new signings if any. We may well have signed Tomkins for all we know, we will not be told who until both teams agree that the deal is done. If the club dont think that we need someone then we dont. How many people on here said that we must improve the squad big time during the season last year cos most of our players are too old, second in the league, good form going into playoffs, played a bad game in the semi of the cup, the season has been far from crap. Didnt realise there were so many pesemistic people out there.

I take it that you haven't followed Warrington for very long

Only for over 30 years, so it must be the other way. I have seen so much crap over the years, i am actually enjoying it at the moment and long may it last
