I spoke to Gareth after the game.
He has jarred his back and they suspect disc damage.
He is going for a scan today to assess the damage.
He was in a lot of pain, but is a tough bloke.
Remember I told everyone about Ben Westwood being injured after Wembley, and got slagged off for it.

You weren't 'slagged off', people just found it hard to believe as a) there was nothing official announced at all and b) he'd been parading around with the cup all weekend and looked fine. Add to that the ridiculous number of random nothing rumors we get on here and you must see why nobody believed you.

Again, that's bad news if it's true, but I'm waiting for an official announcement.

We desperately missed the fire and will to win of Super Benny Westwood.

Mind I hadn't realised we only got two minutes out of Carvell last night.

You made that up and got lucky!

Thank god for the two Bennies. Other than Trent they're probably our biggest tacklers, plus what they bring as a driving force going forward.

Sounds bad for Carvell.

Westwood cant be anywhere near fit so expect one of 2 things if he plays next week;

1. A totally different westwood that we normally see ie nowhere near as good. Or,
2. Westwood to re injure himself, ruling himself out of the game and the rest of the season

Apart from Hill and possibly Mccarthy we got owned in the forwards by saints without Benny W, Benny H and Carvell.

Wood, Morley, Cooper, Grix and Trent had no answers for the saints pack especially Soliola who made a huge impact off the bench.

The only thing Josh Perry owned last night was a big girls blouse. he didnt deserve to be on a winning team.

Or 3. Westwood plays his normal game, doesn't get injured, but only plays for 60 minutes.

We really need Carvell for the big yards, i'm not convinced at all by Mike Cooper and Paul Wood can either be very good or a total liability, he's not got the safest pair of hands in our pack. If Carvell doesn't play we need more from Moz, we need someone to lead us from the front and set an example, Chris Hill is outstanding but he can't do it all by himself as he'll be burnt out by the 60th minute like last night as he looked totally shattered having to try and carry our pack forward.

Carvell is important for us as are Westwood and Harrison, but unless they are fit I'd be concerned if they played because they could do serious damage to themselves if they weren't 90+%.

Hodgson is a concern but we've got cover.
Currently I'd prefer Blythe to Bridge at centre if Ratch goes to 1.

In the league game v Hull, Carvell was by far and away your best forward - but spose that's always likely against us having spent so long there. Big loss for you guys but we won't see Tickle again for defo and I doubt Moa will be risked.
