Is there 5 spots like this season.....or is it 4?

I've seen some posters on the cas forum saying 4.

They're probably hoping that McGoldrick doesn't count (out of sheer embarrasment)

No they're saying we cant buy chase because we have 4 quota spots already

Looks like it's still 5. After posting last night I've done some checking - as far as our club is concerned it's 5 out-and-out quota spots. At the beginning of 2010 the RFL stated this would fall to 4 at the start of the 2012 season (hence Wigan signing Hoffman one a one-year deal) but this has since been revised.
Unless of course you are HKR, in which case you are allowed to sign 17 quota players.
So you could sign Chase (despite him signing a new contact with Cas to 2015

).

The Hoffman deal was done on the basis that he would return to the Storm in 2012.

If Warrington want Chase they can have him, for the right money, is it 500k is asking price?
Just think what a club like Cas could do with that kind of money.

What is the obsession with Chase? He's over rated & not @ our standard - remember we came top of the league!

Next you will be saying that Sam Tomkins is over rated.

He looks "good" in an average side in my opinion. He is a livewire, but does far too much on his own.

I believe you were correct with 4 as of 2012 but couldn't possibly confirm this.
As for Mr Chase, I feel that perhaps we've become the club that just snatches up the most prolific/outstanding/promising players of late so must be linked with him. He's a talent alright but wouldn't be my choice. That said, I'd rather Sir Tony be the judge of that particular scenari. ISWT etc....

i wouldn't normally entertain internet rumours..... but i heard this a few weeks ago from a person i know, who works within the club..... he isn't someone to start rumours or look for attention..... infact when he told me he said he couldn't understand why the club was in the process of trying to buy a player we don't need.... he was adamant the club had made a firm cash offer to cas for the player.... he doesn't have any previous in regards credibility though... so who knows.

as for the quota... im pretty sure its 5...... i cant find, or haven't seen anything to suggest otherwise.

I was sorting of looking for a link to a document that tells us that the quota is 5..... not some trampy student pointing out our 4 overseas players and saying 'answer it?'

. Danny Brough will be the first choice 7 for England along with Widdop at 6 and Tomkins at 1. I don't think Myler is a bad player and I desperately hope he becomes a fantastic one in the future (for England's POV) but the fact is, if you look at most people's teams of the season, Chase is there and Myler is nowhere in sight. Chase is a better player than Myler for me and the person who said he wasn't good enough for Warrington is an idiot.

chase is a 6 and myler is a 7... i think thats why people are saying we dont actually need him... myler has his place in this warrington team.... he has a certain type of job to do and he does it very well.... we have briers, monaghan and hodgson to tear people apart... this team doesn't actually 'need' rangi chase.

having said that if smith signs him you wont find me complaining
