With Trent taking Kings spot and Anderson leaving do we have a spot for a NZ player to come in or do the rules change in 2012?

I'd say so. Doesn't mean you have to use it though. Doesn't even have to be a Kiwi, could be an Australian or a Hong Kongian or even a North Korean.

I dont think we need another one... we have a good squad with good cover in all positions (if ratchford is signed).... we also have alot of good young players pushing for first team rugby.

We don't necessarily need one, unlike other teams in SL we shouldn't depend on bringing someone over to 'fill' a quota spot. If the young British talent is good enough we should give them a chance. Rhys Evans being a prime example of this.

Generally players coming over here in their first year have struggled to settle whether due to injuries or coach disagreements, lifestyle. Cross and Perry this year.

Get a top quality number 9 to interchange with Monas maybe? I would of said front rower but we've signed Hilly. I'd also be inclined to mention a world class winger, but saying that maybe next year we should stick with what we've trained and trust in 1 of Williams, Evans and Riley? In all other positions, I don't feel we need anyone else as we've got plenty of quality and depth in each area.

How many more do you have leaving? Clarke and Higham?

You are saying if a club has less than 5 overseas players, they can carry the quota over to the next season and sign 6?

No sorry, i meant that if we dont need an overseas player, no point having that spot taken for 2 or 3 or years just for the sake of doing it, whereas if we leave it open then next year there may be someone who really suits our needs and we still have the spot

By 2013 we may have lost Hodgson to retirement...

Best bet is to see who posts something dodgy on you tube after the end of the NRL season, then snap them up

I think we should just buy up all the best English [size=85and Welsh[/size talent and just have 1 awesome Oz/Kiwi player.

On paper our team for 2012 looks stronger then this years for me, which is unreal when you think about it but I think next years team will have even more go forward with Waterhouse and Hill signing.

Anyone think of a weak spot in the team? signing a 2nd really class hooker was a good shout can't think of anyone though.

hooker is the only spot i think we are lacking quality backup in... oh and stand off.... but if ratchford is signed that is taken care of.

No need to get anyone else signed up unless there's a weakness in the squad, and with a lot of the yougsters having had another years' experience I don't think there's a need to.

Sorry 85, but Evans (as good as he is, and his potential improvement) will not improve us, for the loss of King.

However, I'm in total agreement with you, re a 2nd really class hooker joining us.
The 2 we have, clearly aren't up to the job (especially One Trick Mick).
