| Right, last night showed without doubt that Chris Bridge is not a half back, Monas although very good, isn't a leader and Myler doesn't have a long kicking game.
Is it time to promote Gaz O'Brien in to the squad when Briers isn't fit?

| I've never seen him play, so I wouldn't know whether he is up to the quality of SL, but after last nights game I would definitely try him out. Like you say, Monas and Bridge aren't half backs, and Myler is a support player really. If Briers isn't fit next week, I would definitely give him a go at 6.

Couldn't agree more.
I haven't seen him play either but last night showed playing players out of position at half back offers nothing. Would prefer to see a half back playing in his natural position even if he is a young lad - better than seeing Monas, Bridge, Clarke, etc. playing there.

| He might not be ready, but then again he might, and i'd rather try it and find out it doesn't work than have another week where the top players don't do it for us. We have to try something new now, or we will never replace briers.

| Never seen him play in the flesh, but everytime i read the reports from the u20's and u18's whichever he plays for, he always seems to be one of the top performers.
So yes i think he needs to be considered when Briers or even Myler doesn't play as its quite clear that Chris Bridge isn't a stand off and nobody else seems to ever take control of a game when Briers isn't playing.
Also theres Sam Caslick, but again i know very little of him, does anyone know if he's ready for the step up to superleague?

| I suppose with all the developments in our academy and squadbuilder etc, we're at a point we don't have to play people out of position.
Bridge seems a perfectly decent Centre, who can play at fullback. Lets give him a go!

| Never seen him play so I don't really have an opinion as to whether he's ready or not. One thing I would say though is that at the minute I would rather bring a youngster in against the likes of Crusaders (with all respect to them, they're not a Saints, Wigan or Huddersfield) with Briers rather than against a 'big' team with Myler.

Seems to have had another influential game this week. From what I have seen he has the game for SL already but perhaps not the build? Walter or Paul would be in a better position to judge

| If the prefessional coaches who are working with Gaz O Brien regularly, and Tony Smith as head coach don't feel he is ready then why do we, as spectators, know any better?

When has Bridge ever been able to play at fullback ?
He is a centre or nothing ! It's the only position he can play and he's inconsistent at centre at best !

| We will never find out if he is SL standard unless we play him. My view is yes play the fella, but I wonder if the Keithley game will be the first game he gets?

| Padders. You are really comical at times. The worst thing is you don't mean to be.
Did Bridge steal your wife/husband? He's a very good centre. Arguably the best we have. Now unless you want more people realizing you are a joke.

Are all better Centres IMO and everyone I know thinks the same ! Bridge is too inconsistent ! yes he shows glimpses he is good but his overall performances are poor at best !

Your the deluded one if you think Bridge is behind all them, the fact Bridge is 1st choice centre ahead of all them say's it all.

| Padders, i have to disagree with you.
If Chris Bridge was left alone to play right centre without any injuries or being moved into another positition like he quite often does then i`d struggle to find a better english right centre thats currently playing in SL, i was a sceptic in the past but that was mainly down to his injury record and not his ability.
Under Tony Smith Chris Bridge is fulfilling his potential, he`s got great footwork in a tight space, the only things i'd pick him up on are his passing could be better though, sometimes he holds onto the ball for too long and his defence can be a bit casual at times.

| I'd play O'Brien and Laithwaite on Friday. Both of them deserve a crack at SL.

| I'd play O'Brien this week, if we're still a halfback down.
I'm not really into this whole 'Is he ready', I'm not sure what it means and how you would know without giving him the opportunity. He can kick a ball which we struggled to do on Friday and he has decent hands, with our pivots like Monas & Hodgson joining the line, as long as he can pass accurately, he doesn't have to start trying to unlock defences from the off, he can just be involved and offer himself.
They (Crusaders) represent the best game in SL at the minute to blood a halfback as they seem to be a bit unstructured in how they approach it, with the ball they're a threat, without it they can't hold you out to often, let O'Brien go into an open contest as oppose to a 'battle'.
